Tokyo Marui Z Scale Trains

Very recently I was introduced to the world of Z scale trains and decided to look into it deeper.

Tokyo Marui is a Japanese firm famous for its Airsoft guns, but this is not the only thing they manufacture. They also make a very nice Z Scale train set that comes fully built and painted.

The Tokyo Marui Pro Z train set comes in sections that clip together so you can start out small and build upon it. To give you an idea of the size the standard oval comes in briefcase size.

Tokyo Marui's Pro Z Train Set

As you can see from the photo above, the Tokyo Marui's train set is really small. The Oval train set that is also depicted in the photograph can be picked up for approximately $500. It is expensive but it does come fully painted and all the buildings and carriages have lights installed in them and it looks very impressive in the dark (as seen in the video below which also shows the full layout).

Pro Z Layout in Sections

As you can see from the photograph above the Tokyo Marui Pro Z set comes in sections. Each of the sections just slot together.

When you buy the 'full set' which comes in two separate editions. You get sections A+B with buildings track and bridges all fully built and painted all you have to do is slot the two pieces together. You also get a power controller which only works at 100 volts. This is okay for American users but European and Australian users will need a voltage transformer which converts 240 volts to 100 volts. A voltage converter can be purchased at your local electric store. If you can't be bothered going down to your local electric store try Maplin.

Depending on which edition you get you will also get either the E231-500 Series Yamanote Line train set (7 Cars) or the EF65-500 . 20 Series Sleeping Car train set (6 Cars). Of course, either of these locomotives can be purchased separatly at approx $200 per set.

You can also get everything seperately - buildings, track, track sections, trains, controllers, etc. At the moment some of these items can be difficult to find because it is a Japanese product, but as with everything else it will become easier.

Ain't That Beautiful

I need help. I have a beautiful collection of Marklin Z, and MTL trains. I need to know if there's someone out there, who will have the time, to build me a nice Z Gauge layout. I'm looking for a layout which is 6 feet long by 3 feet wide, I live in Brooklyn, NY. If anyone knows of someone, who is willing to take the time to build me a layout, I would really appreciate it. And yes, of course I'm going to pay them for their time and labor. Anyone with any knowledge, please E-mail me at: ALLAN1130@AOL.COM Thank you so much, for your help.
