Tokyoplastic make the coolest 3D animations and designer toys
Let's put it simple: you wish you could do what they do. Tokyoplastic are the two awesomest guys on the web and nobody, ever, is going to top them. Their 3D characters become famous instantly. Their ads are viral - you want to send them to all your friends, and never mind it's advertising, it's just so great!
They also make cute urban vinyl designer toys of their most famous and favorite 3D characters. Of course, the toys are limited edition - it's just the way it is in designer toy world. Once the enticing black kokeshi drummer toy (better known as Black geisha; there are also White and Red, long gone from stores) was sold out, Tokyoplastic did not issue more - they just created something else.
You can usually find several items in stock, in their official store: often it's just the Black opera dude, White opera dude and a flower print set, but sometimes something unexpected happens, like a 12 inch Red Geisha or a Glow-in-the-Dark Opera Dude, so keep checking.Once you look through their 3D movies, animations and ads (yes, they're actually an advertising agency - the coolest one, in my opinion; they made some crazy Toyota ads you'll never forget), you're gonna want the awesome stuff too.

You can't get the Tokyoplastic Geisha in stores, so look her up on eBay
The impossibly cute limited edition geisha (kokeshi) that they don't make anymore.
The latest news is, they made a giant 12" geisha (normally they are about 3" tall) with an octopus drawn on her back. Pretty. Check her out here.

Did you know that Tokyoplastic's animations are the coolest on the web?
Start with Tokyoplastic 3D animation archive - you'll be blown away by the sheer coolness of it. My absolute favorite is this Toyota ad Bomb Da Bass but the others are really awesometastic too. Then there are these fascinating limited edition toys - just scroll down this page a bit to see them. Don't you just want to get them all?
Here's a very good description of what Tokyoplastic is and does: Tokyoplastic Inspirations
Here is their ad animation for Motorola: MotoSpeed
And finally, there's this beautiful Japanese-style flash website - the most aesthetically pleasing website I've ever seen. Maybe I'm just a sucker for elegant minimalism.
This is what I'm talking about

You can download the Zune Art one, but don't post it on Youtube because it has been posted no less than 8 times there already.

The strange cute toys are almost gone from stores. Will they release something new? The cube with hands would be awesome!
There are no official news links, so I'll just have to watch the blogosphere.

Their biggest influence is Takashi Murakami, a famous Japanese artist.
They have a profile in Film network website that's "showcasing new British filmmaking".
This is another interesting article about inspirations, toys and animations.
Then there is this interview in Ventilate and even a photo of them.
I would also recommend reading this interview with Sam Lanyon Jones which among other things discusses the 2004 Sundance Film Festival award for "Drum Machine".

P.S: That One Other Kind Of Tokyo Plastic
Don't get that mixed up: this movie has nothing to do with the toys, animations or the UK-based agency Tokyoplastic whatsoever.
You can watch the trailer for the movie here.
Hikikomori: Tokyo Plastic
If you were looking for this kind of Tokyo Plastic (not the other kind with cute alien animations and cool designer toys), just click on this picture to get the movie DVD from Amazon. It's a 2004 movie, described by viewers as a "gritty and scary look at the real Tokyo". Well, I guess it's quite cool too.
