Lara Croft's Underworld Descent
It resumes the adventure from where Tomb Raider: Legend left off and addresses elements of the plot left unexplained in Legend and Tomb Raider: Anniversary, which are Crystal Dynamics' previous games in the series.
Differences from previous iterations in the series are that Lara's environment will be an "interactive world that reacts and remembers", such that footprints left in the mud and any destruction to the environment she causes will be permanent. This installment also features a new melee combat system, requiring Lara in some instances to use "direct combat and evasive manoeuvres to distance herself from her attacker". Notably, Lara's bike, among other things, will be a key component in solving the puzzles she will encounter in her adventure. (read more)

Eidos UK PR firm Barrington Harvey has confirmed that British sites are being asked not to post Tomb Raider: Underworld reviews with scores lower than 80 percent until Monday. The news is unlikely to go down well. Eidos's efforts at controlling review scores are still fresh in the mind: it was a row over Gamespot's 6/10 review of Kane & Lynch that cost popular US journalist Jeff Gerstmann his job. Tomb Raider: Underworld's Metacritic average stands at 78 percent.

- Will there be a third Tomb Raider Movie and when will it come out?
- At the moment there has been no offical announcement from Eidos or Paramount. The most current information we have is
that Paramount and Eidos have expressed an interest, hired a script writer and that Angelina has the option to return. - If Angelina isn't coming back, who will replace her?
- Since there has been no confirmation about a replacement, it's anyone's guess. There is currently a general thread for actress speculation here. Check with this thread for the latest information.

Despite its failure to move the series forward, Underworld is still fundamentally an incredibly enjoyable experience and a real return to captivating tomb raiding on a grand scale. It might be the same Lara we've enjoyed over the years but there's no denying the lady's still got style.
