Tombow professional drawing pencils

My favorite drawing pencils
I found Tombow Mono Professional Drawing Pencils by accident, and it was the best thing that ever happened to my art!
Once you try these pencils, I don't think you will want to use any other kind. They contain more graphite than ordinary pencils, and the consistency is great! Very buttery and smooth feel. Great for blending.
I have recommended them to all my artist friends. If you're new to drawing, all the little numbers and letters on pencils can look daunting. You can become a pencil nerd, or you can get drawing! Something tells me you'd rather be drawing, so this page will get you started.

What to buy advice: Tombow pencils on Amazon
If you are just starting out in drawing, probably the most economical thing to do is get the set shown below. The set has the pencils in varying degrees of hardness.
Once you have been working with them for awhile, you'll probably realize you are using about 4 of the pencils the most often.
My most commonly used pencils are 2B, 3B, 4B, and 6B. Your favorites might be different. Once you notice which ones are getting the most use, then consider buying a full box of those pencil grades.
Occasionally I need some of the F and H hardness pencils, but not as often. The graphite pencils in the H range also last longer simply because their graphite is harder.
The links in this section will take you to Amazon.com, but you don't have to buy them there. The next section covers other places you can locate these pencils. I'm very glad they are getting easier to find.

I do not work for Tombow, I have never received any free merchandise from Tombow. I have not been compensated in any way for this Squidoo page. I just really like the pencils, and wanted to share the information. Tombow found my page and decided to feature me on their blog. It was a really nice surprise!

- Look for them, even if you just want a good pencil ... for a pencil! You will favor it over many other writing tools. That's how I found them, I stumbled upon an old one in a desk drawer at a place I used to work. It might have been worth working at that codependent mess of an office for a year, just for that one good pencil discovery. lol!
