1.These fat suits, where it's just a plastic suit you have to wear that makes you sweat. These don't remove fat, they're just a waste of money.
2.Those fifties, wall-mounted belt-vibrators, where women would lean against and shimmy their tush while they're reading magazines and blow-drying their hair. Those look funny now, but back then people thought they removed fat.
The high tech example:
These really expensive electric stimulation devices, where you put little pads on your abs and they shock you, which is the equivalent of doing crunches. And they claim that you can get 6 pack abs while watching tv. Right...

Myth6: Toning Abdominal Muscles Requires Long Grueling Workouts
Do You Need to Spend Your Whole Time in The Gym?

These hour-long ab workouts with ab exercises are a complete waste of time if you're trying to get some visible abdominal muscle. You would be much better off spending that 60 minutes doing jogging or cycling to burn off the body fat, rather than doing these ab exercises.
A part of the problem is that people have this misconception that ab exercises are cardiovascular exercises. They're not!
To do a cardiovascular exercise, you need to elevate your heart rate into the weight loss zone, and the only way you can do that is by taking the big muscles (like the quads in the legs) and doing something really strenuous, like jogging, running, or cycling.
The abdominal muscles are really small in comparison to the quads, and there's no way you can possibly get your heart rate into the weight loss zone just by doing ab exercises.
