Top 5 Bizarre Films To Watch

Ranked #3,473 in Entertainment, #65,938 overall

Not Your Ordinary Popcorn Movies

Add a little excitement to your movie experience. Here is a list of bizarre films to watch with or without your friends.

These are my personal picks to watch if you want to take a break from mainstream cinema.
Bizarre, which means 'strange', 'obscure';'weird', and the like , is the appropriate description that unites these 5 films. It doesn't only mean that these films are out of the norm when it comes to the traditional film making or narrative style but it also gives an opportunity for the audience to be open-minded of the possibilities when it comes to watching movies. Being a film-obsessed human being, I learned that watching films is not about the entertainment that you will gain but also the creative output that you will offer to the visual world. The disturbing theme, experimental technique, and inhumane acts are some of the factors why I considered these films as bizarre.

Some of these films are considered to be sick, or made from hell. But, if you want to explore more about your interest in film, this list is a good way to start and introduce you to the crazy side of film culture and history.

OldBoy

This is absolutely the masterpiece of Park Chan-Wook. This 2003 film offers you the great twist and graphic images that will sum up your twisted movie experience. I literally got headache after watching this: a headache that you would want to enjoy.

I predict that the Oldboy U.S. remake

It was announced that Spike Lee will have a US remake of OIdboy starring Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Olsen. What can you say about it?

theatricalgeek predicts:

I predict that the americans will screw up another east masterchief into a big blockbuster remake like they did so often in the past. I loved Oldboy, and I never plan on seeing the future remake.

kcsantos predicts:

I predict that this will be good since it has good cast. I think Olsen will do great, but since we know all the disturbances and the twist of hthe movie, maybe it'll be less exciting. I'm just hoping there'll be something new but not far from the original.

Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom

I totally agree that this is a horror movie. Sometimes, horror movies don't necessarily need to have ghosts. This 1975 film adaptation of Pier Paolo Pasolini presents the greatest fear of all- the fear of humanity.

I saw Salo' in college for a Pasolini course. Twenty years later, the inside of my brain is still scarred from seeing this. I was a big fan of his writing, but this film was so disturbing it completely overshadowed all of his early works of literary genius.

Oldboy is the only one on this list I've seen. And it was disturbing.

Wow. I haven't seen a single one of these movies, so it looks like I have some catching up to do...
