Best GPU for Gaming Reviews
GTX680
EVGA GeForce GTX 680 2048MB GDDR5, DVI, DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort, 4-way SLI Ready Graphics Card Graphics Cards 02G-P4-2680-KROfficially released on the 23/03/12 , Nvidia states that its new flagship single gpu graphics card the Gtx 680, will blow the competition away. The GTX680 in games, 3dmark11 and some other benchmarks seems to be the answer to Ati's release of the 7970. Versus other cards - higher framerates than the 7970 on most tested benchmarks, even higher then its own flagship dual gpu graphics card the 590GTX and its previous single gpu champ the 580GTX. Clever automated overclocking when needed dependent on power and load. The new 28nm Kepler technology, 2gb of ram and the option of having 3D Surround Gaming + an extra monitor on a single gpu card takes Nvidias users to new heights. This is todays fastest single gpu gaming graphics card and think that the drivers arent fully optimised yet.

Fastest Ati Single Core Gpu
Ati Hd 7970
Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 OC 3GB DDR5 HDMI/DVI-I/Dual Mini DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 11197-01-40GThis is the latest release from Ati. It Ati's fastest single core graphics card . Build with 3gb ram and the first card to support the new Pci-Express 3.0, for double the memory bandwith. Compared to other cards, it beats the Nvidias 580gtx hands down and is very close to Nvidia 590gtx and Ati's HD6990 dual core processor performance. Using a single processor card will be alot less strenuous on your electricity bill, but less powerful in Eyefinity mode (three monitor surround gaming), or you can Crossfire them squeezing in those extra fps in multi monitor mode. As the new driver releases come out the card will be better performance optimized. Crossfireing two of the cards will set you back at around $1000 or you can go for the dual core processor Ati Radeon 4gb HD6990 which costs $700-800.

Top Nvidia Sli Gpu
GTX670
EVGA GeForce GTX670 FTW 2048MB GDDR5 256bit, Dual Dual-Link DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, 4-Way SLI Ready Graphics Card Graphics Cards 02G-P4-2678-KRI eagerly antisepated the release of this card and actually preordered it. I was using a 27 inch 2560x1600 res monitor and as soon as it arrived I through every game at it in the highest resolution possible and maxing out graphics settings aswell. I don't compromise on graphics settings nor like playing anything under 50fps, and the awaiting of the Gtx 670 didnt let me down at all, easily playing all the games even at the craziest graphic settings. A rock solid competitor for all single and dual gpu cards . It has the best driver optimisation as it sahres the same architecture with the more expensive Gtx 680 that was released before it. Differences in frame rates are marginal against the 680 but the card is at a very lower price. As I have moved to 3D Surround gaming, instead of buying a newer card I just bought another identical one and slapped them in Sli mode. Now thats what I call gaming. I doubt I will need another card for the next couple of years.

Best Graphics Card under 500$
R7950 Ati Radeon 3GB
VisionTek Radeon 7950 3GB DDR5 PCI Express Graphics CardThis is a slightly lower cost card to its big brother the 7970. If you are using a single monitor and want a lower budget for a gaming graphics card under $500, this is a great choice with 3gb ram. I doubt you will see a big difference from the 7970 on a single monitor, you should be able to easy play at the highest resolution. Now for Eyefinity gaming it will be a little difficult to play with all the eye candy but you will have reasonable gameplay. If your an Ati Radeon fan this would be an alternative to Nvidia's 3gb 580GTX at a similar price. A single 580gtx beats a single 7950 by quite a margin even though an older release. Sli 580gtx's vs Crossfireing 7950's performance are on the same levels, with the 7950's having a slight advantage overall because of reduced noise and power consumption.

Best 3Gb Single Gpu Card
Evga 580GTX 3GB Version
EVGA GeForce GTX 580 3072 MB GDDR5 PCB PCI Express 2.0 2DVI/Mini-HDMI SLI Ready Limited Lifetime Warranty Graphics Card, 03G-P3-1584-ARThis is the exact same 580gtx card offered from Msi above, but from Evga with 3gb of ram and a single fan. The 3GB ram from the 1.5gb ram versions make a difference only if you are playing with 3 Monitors at 7680x1440 on Surround gaming and want to add Anti Aliasing and Antisotropic Filtering settings.
Fastest Dual Gpu Gaming Graphics Card
Asus Mars II 3gb Dual Processor Card
If you dont already know Asus Republic of Gamers or ROG take the best computer hardware parts and build beasts. One of the latest additions to the collection is the Asus Mars II 3gb. Its a revamped stock 590gtx with the famous Asus DirectCU II fan and heatsink for better cooling. The overclocking done on this card is what Companies didn't dare to do with their stock versions. The stock 590gtx is dual 580gtx processors on one card, but Nvidias stock 590 is underclocked and the sli 580gtx's outperform it. With this crazy version from ROG you get the stock 590gtx power in an unleashed version. Even though one of the most expensive cards available, it kills every game in maximum resolution and ubersampling. This is one of my top picks for 3D Surround Gaming.Even though stated by RoG as a dual 580Gtx it uses a 590gtx.

isaacdark Nov 9, 2012 @ 11:00 pm | deletegtx 670 or HD 7970??? -
Not a big difference between the two. Its up to preference. -
very interesting lens.
Congrats. -
Will the Radeon 7770 be enough to run modern games on at least medium? Anyway, good lens! -
It will be enough for even high settings on some but not all games. -
Brandon Jun 17, 2012 @ 8:25 pm | deleteI'm building a new gaming desktop and it's planned specs are:
NZXT Phantom PHAN-001WT White Steel
Intel Core i5 – 2500k 3.3GHz LGA 1155 Quad Core
PNY XLR8 8GB DDR3 1600MHz 240 pin CAS Duel Channel Memory Kit
OCZ ModX Stream Pro 700W High Perf Power Supply
ASUS VS228H-P 21.5 In Full-HD LED Monitor
ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3 Intel ATX DDR3 1066 LGA 1155 Motherboard
My only problem is I cant choose a graphics card, which card would you recommend for playing games like Diablo 3, League of Legends, BF 3, Skyrim, etc.? -
Gtx670 or gtx680... it will play these games all at ultra settings. -
Woa! Useful info. Thanks -

Conch May 15, 2012 @ 12:24 am | deleteBuilding my very first PC, I'd very much like a recommendation for a great GPU for the money. I'm not a hardcore gamer, definitely an enthusiast, but want to future-proof my comp.
Specs:
Intel Core i7-3770K
CORSAIR H80 (CWCH80) High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
ASRock Z77 Extreme4-M LGA 1155 Intel Z77 ATX Intel Motherboard
G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB 2×4, 2133mhz
Corsair Carbide Series 400R ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case
Corsair CMPSU-850TXV2 80 Plus
OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SSD
Thus far, the only games I play are SC2, LoL, and Diablo 3. I have no desire to play FPS or games like that on a computer. I believe SC2 is the most graphic intensive of the games I play, so I'd like to be able to run SC2 on Ultra with 60+ FPS if that helps narrow down an appropriate GPU..
I'll be back to see if/when you've posted. =) -
I'm interested in the 7750... Great power savings, and very affordable. -
Depends solely on what your needs are for gaming, give me your pc specs, what games you play and I will give you a good recommendation. -
I am going to buy a new laptop with i5,4gb ram so which video card should i prefer nvidia 540 1gb ,680 2gb,410 1gb or amd radeon 7680 2gb ,6630 1gb -
Laptops don't have powerful graphics cards like desktops do, but I think the 6 series 2gb would do the job
. -
Great lens on gaming video cards. The GTX 680 looks awesome.
