Top Gangster Movies

Most of the all time top gangster movies involve those few actors that have mastered the role of playing a gangster. When choosing my list of favorite actors I have used a combination of your typical gangster actors, and also included performances from actors that that I think played their part well.. ..

1) Robert DeNiro (just about all his roles)
2) Al Pacino (again another actor who always puts on a good performance)
3) Marlon Brando (Godfather)
4) Joe Pesci (Goodfellas, Casino and Raging Bull)
5) Christopher Walken (Just about every gangster role he has played)
6) Ray Liotto (Goodfellas)
7) Daniel Day Lewis (Gangs Of New York)
8) Samuel L Jackson (Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown)
9) Ben Kingsley (Sexy Beast)
10) Denzel Washington (American Gangster)

Again when talking about the top gangster movies you can't help but think about the funny, dark and highly entertaining characters that have been on display.. When choosing a list of my favorite characters from gangster movies I think more about those ones that provide the most entertainment.

All of the top gangster movies are created from the minds of a special few creative and innovative film makers. The great film makers of all the good gangster movies have an ability to tell captivating story and bring the characters into the movie. While there have been a great number of gangster movies made by brillant directors, I have decided to choose those ones that have made at least 3 gangster movies.

When choosing a list of my 10 top gangster movies of all time I used a combination of good acting, flamboyant and memorable characters, and a movie that has been put together by some great film making. While there have been other great gangster movies such as Road To Perdition, American Gangster, Untouchables and Gang Of New York just to name a few; these 10 movies were the ones that I found most memorable.
