Great Indie Games for Mac

In the mood for a great new indie game? Here's a list of some of the best indie games available on the Mac App Store. Each game on this list gets top marks for clever gameplay mechanics (control the flow of time itself in Braid!), beautiful visuals (check out LIMBO's unique style), and great music (relax with the calm soundtrack of Osmos).

I've played each of these games and recommend them all. If you have any favourites that I've missed, please leave a comment at the bottom.

Have fun!

Full of humour and with lush cartoon graphics, DeathSpank is an action RPG that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Collect loot, conquer your foes, and complete quests! Tried out limbo on your recommendation. Very unique & interesting visual style. Great Halloween game. Puzzles are cool but after a while, not enough reward or indication of forward progress to keep me going. Glad to have tried it though. I may try out your other recommendations.

Thanks for the comment! The second half of the game does suffer from a bit of a pacing problem. It becomes more puzzle-heavy with less story / scripted moments. This means that there is less pull on the player to find out what's going on, as you've observed, and it becomes more of a standard puzzle platformer.

I love Bit Trip Runner. I have it on my Wii- flashing lights and super fast paced. Nice lens!
