The Top 10 New Moon Movie Moments I Wanted to See!
The Twilight sequel New Moon opened on November 20, 2009. In theatres NOW!! It was anxiously awaited by fans all over the world who are emotionally invested in the romance between vampire Edward Cullen and human, Bella Swan. It's not just a book or a movie... it is a worldwide phenomenon.
Unlike Twilight, which was pretty much all love all the time, in New Moon the fans fully expect to have their guts ripped out and be taken on an emotional roller coaster ride. The very premise of this installment of the Twilight Saga is that Edward and Bella breakup. :( The audience will go on a journey with Bella through all the ups and downs of first love. We will also be with her when she realizes that the Cullen family is not the only family with a big secret. Her best friend Jacob Black and his friends are actually werewolves... the sworn enemy of the vampire. Jacob is also in love with Bella. How will this love triangle resolve itself? Will Bella lose Edward forever? Having already read the book multiple times I already know the answers to these questions but I still look forward to the movie. The Paper Cut Turned Bloody Birthday
New Moon Moment #1
Towards the beginning of New Moon, the Cullen family throws a birthday party for Bella. She is turning 18 and is in very poor spirits since her birthday makes her forever older than 17 year old Edward. She did not want to have a birthday party but gave in to make Edward and his sister Alice happy. At the party she is opening gifts when she accidentally gets a paper cut. Normally this is no big deal right? Well, Bella is in a house full of blood thirsty vampires. When she cuts herself Jasper involuntarily attacks her and tries to kill her. He is stopped by Edward and the other family members who have survived without human blood for much longer.
Bella is also thrown into a glass table and cuts herself pretty badly. Even Edward has to leave the room as the smell of the blood is too much for him. The picture above is Dr. Cullen and Bella after she is thrown into a glass table during the scuffle.
I want to see this moment because it is the critical moment when everything changes. It is due to this event that Edward ultimately decides to leave Bella for her own good.

The Breakup
New Moon Moment #2
The moment we all want to see even though it will be a train wreck.Of course many of us will be sobbing our eyes during this scene but we want to see it anyway. After the infamous paper cut scene Edward decides it is just too dangerous to make Bella part of their world. The whole family decided to leave Forks and start over somewhere else. Edward stays behind to say goodbye to Bella.
He knows that Bella will not approve of or accept Edward leaving her for her own good so he has to do the unthinkable. He has to make Bella think he does not love her anymore. Fans of the book can see this scene all too well. He breaks up with her in the forest, telling her that he just doesn't care for her that way anymore. Then he leaves. Bella sinks to the ground and stays there for hours, unable to move, almost unable to breath. This begins a deep depression that lasts for many months and opens the door for a love triangle.
It Will Be As if I Never Existed - Edward Cullen
Bella Meets Laurent and the Wolf pack in the Forest!
New Moon Moment #3
This scene is important for a couple reasons. Bella has not seen Laurent in many months. Last she saw him he was is a coven with James and Victoria and when James went to war with the Cullen's, Laurent decided to take up with the other "vegetarian" vampires in Alaska.Bella is in the forest trying to find the meadow that was her and Edward's special place. She runs into Laurent instead. At first Bella is not alarmed but we soon see that she SHOULD be. Laurent tells Bella that James's mate Victoria is in the area and intent on killing her in revenge for her mate's death. A mate for a mate... Edward killed James so Victoria wants to kill Bella.
Laurent, who has obviously forsaken trying to hunt animals only, decides to kill Bella himself and this is where a key part of the story comes into play. Bella is saved from Laurent by a big pack of werewolves. We later find out Jacob and several of his friends on the reservation are part man, part wolf. The movie appears to change this around a bit and perhaps make it Jacob alone that morphs into a werewolf and saves Bella.. but it is an important scene nonetheless!
I also look forward to this scene because Edward will materialize in front of Bella to warn her as he often does when Bella is in danger. In the book she merely hears his voice but in the movie we will get to see Edward where we otherwise would not.
Bella Goes Cliff Diving
New Moon Moment #4
Bella visits the La Push Indian reservation many times to visit Jacob during New Moon. On one of those visits she sees kids cliff diving. Usually this would not interest her but she comes to realize that when she does something dangerous she "hears" Edwards voice in her mind. In the movie she will also see an image of him.During one of her visits she decides to attempt a cliff dive on her own so that she can hear him. She doesn't realize that the water conditions are very dangerous at the time and she jumps. When she lands in the water, the current starts to pull her under and drown her. Lucky for Bella, Jacob comes to her rescue and pulls her out of the water.
Unbeknownst to Bella, Alice saw her jump in one of her premonitions. But when Bella is close to the werewolves Bella disappears from her sight. So Alice sees the jump and assumes Bella has commit suicide.

- I agree with all of these choices. The break-up scene is gonna kill me and I know from reading New Moon I am going to be wishing the film would hurry up until the part where Edward and Bella get back together in Italy. I am so excited about seeing all the films in the Twilight Saga, but I am most looking forward to Breaking Dawn where they finally get married and make love.

Reunion With Alice
New Moon Moment #5
After Bella is rescued after a botched cliff dive, Jacob takes her home. Bella discovers that Alice has returned to Forks to see her. After many months without seeing any of the Cullens, even her best friend Alice, Bella is overcome with happiness. She hugs Alice as hard and long as she can and the readers feel the same elation she does in getting to see Alice again. Next to seeing Edward this is the best thing Bella could have asked for.Alice tells her about the misunderstanding that brought her back to Forks but she too is very happy to be reunited.
The Phone Call That Starts It All
New Moon Moment #6
When Alice left to go to Forks and confirm Bella's supposed death, she confided in Rosalie what she saw. While Alice is on her way to Forks, Rosalie speaks with Edward and tells him the untimely news... Bella is dead.Edward calls Bella's home but Jacob answers. Edward asks to speak to Charlie (Bella's dad) but Jacob tells him that Charlie is at a funeral and hangs up. Edward is left to believe that Bella is in fact dead.
Alice sees a premonition of Edward heading to Italy on a suicide mission and figures out what has happened. Edward plans to ask the vampire clan known as the Volturi to kill him. If they refuse he plans to provoke them into doing it by exposing himself as a vampire in a public place. He does not want to live without Bella.

Bella and Alice race against time to try and save Edward's life. In a very memorable scene they steal a yellow Porsche to try and get to Volterra as fast as they can to prevent Edward from exposing himself in broad daylight to the townspeople in the village square. Edward Almost Glitters
New Moon Moment #8
Edward plans to provoke the Volturi into killing him by walking in the town square in broad daylight. In the Twilight universe, vampires glitter like a million diamonds in the sunlight so humans will know that he is not human if he goes into the sunlight. Edward knows the Volturi will execute him the moment he attempts to reveal himself and that is what he wants. Without Bella, Edward has no desire to live.Meanwhile Bella and Alice are racing across the crowded square during a festival to try and stop him. When Bella bulldozes into Edward he thinks he is already dead and that he is now in heaven with her. Bella finally manages to convince him that she is still alive and so is he! But now they have caught the eye of the Volturi and they are not going to let this incident go.

Meet the Volturi
New Moon Moment #9
After Edward's attempt to provoke the Volturi they take Edward, Alice, and Bella into custody to interrogate them. The Volturi are menacing, evil, with a cloak wearing guard, and all have supernatural abilities. Aro is the oldest and strongest and Jane appears to look the youngest with an angel like face but she is perhaps the most dangerous. She can cause anyone horrific pain with just a glance. Interestingly Bella is immune to her power and everyone's else too... just like Edward can't read her mind. Jane does use her powers to torture Edward for a spell.The Volturi demand to know why a human (Bella) has been entrusted with their secret and Alice assures them that she has seen a vision of the future where Bella has been turned into a vampire herself. This appeases them for the time being but Edward, Alice, and Bella know they have not seen the last of the Volturi.
Reunited - Edward & Bella
New Moon Moment #10
After all the excitement in Italy and almost losing each other Edward confides to Bella that he made a mistake in leaving her. He was lost without her and is devastated that she believed so easily that he didn't love her anymore. He claims to have been just about to come back to her when he heard of her death. He wants to come back to Forks and Bella if she will have him. Of course she does!
Fans of the movie and the books will no doubt be on cloud nine when they are reunited.
Of course due to the Volturi now watching them closely Bella decides to appeal to the Cullen family and request that they change her into a vampire even if Edward won't go along with it. They vote and decide that Bella will be turned. Edward and Bella do a little more negotiating and come up with a plan they can agree on but one thing is clear...Bella will join the family and be with Edward forever.
