The Ten Sexiest Sci-Fi Couples Ever!
I am a huge fan of science fiction and paranormal adventure both in print and on the big screen. I love vampires, werewolves, aliens, mummies, shape-shifters, and all that is mythical, mysterious, and paranormal. Add a romantic element to the mix and you have a winning combo in my book. I created this lens to highlight what I consider to be the sexiest and most romantic paranormal science fiction couples from TV, the silver screen, and various books. Yes, this lens is very broad in its interpretation of science fiction, sue me. A couple of these "couples" are definately sci-fi, some are borderline, and some are pure fantasty/paranormal but for the purpose of this lens I am lumping them all under the sci-fi category. Don't like it.. avert your eyes.
The criteria for picking these couples is that at least one half of the pair had to be paranormal in some way. I also chose the couples I felt had the best chemistry and sex appeal and really sent up smoke signals from the screen or book. They kept me watching or turning the page. They made a deep impression on me and they are couples I can never forget. They created immortal love stories. So take a look at my top picks from #1 through #10 and leave my your comments at the end and let me know if you agree with my list or not or if you feel I have made a serious error of omission! Max Evans and Liz Parker
#1 Sexiest Sci-Fi Couple
I cannot think of Max Evans and Liz Parker without getting all mushy inside. They are probably my favorite romantic couple of all time, paranormal or not. Their love story is epic. They are simply the best in sci-fi romance!!If you have never heard of them you are in for a treat. Max and Liz's romance began on the pages of a series called Roswell High but most people know them best from the TV series Roswell
that aired between 1999 and 2002.In the opening scenes of Roswell we learn that Max Evans is an alien. He is not just any alien either. He is the king if his former planet, killed in a great battle, and genetically cloned and made half human so that he could hide among humans and one day return to save his enslaved people. Max's essence was preserved along with that of his sister Isabelle and his second in command and best friend Michael. Max and the others have no idea who they are or what their destiny is though and at the age of 17 Max falls in love with one of his high school classmates, Liz Parker. Liz discovers his secret one day at her family's diner when she is shot in a scuffle between customers. Max uses his superhuman abilities to save her life and sets off a wild chain of events that follows them for the next three years.
Max and Liz fall in love despite the dangerous times they now live in, running from the police and FBI, never knowing whom to trust. When Max discovers his destiny he also alerts his great enemy, the "skins" to his presence on earth and Max, Liz, and friends never know if they are up against human or alien. Max also discovers that there was another alien who was cloned along with himself, Michael, and Isabelle... his wife, Tess, from their previous life was cloned as well and comes to Roswell to take her place at his side and return with him to their home planet. How can Max and Liz's love survive a destiny that was not meant for her?
The relationship between Max and Liz was incredibly steamy and brings to mind memories of first love and how wild and passionate it is. They make it through an alien war, the pressure from Max's alien mate, and even Max's own death. It is quite simply the absolute finest sci-fi, on screen, romance I have ever witnessed.

Eric and Sookie
#2 Sexiest Sci-Fi Couple
Eric Northman is a 1000 year old Viking vampire and Sookie is a telepathic barmaid from Bon Temps Louisiana. Eric is the Sheriff of area five according to vampire politics and Sookie is the human girlfriend of his one his vampire suboordinates. From the moment he meets her though, Eric wants something more and Sookie wonders if there IS anything more to Eric other than his cold outer shell.
Eric tricks Sookie into a blood bond, opening up the door for a romance to blossom. Midway through the book series Sookie finds Eric running half naked through the woods near her house and he has amnesia. Unlike the old Eric who is arrogant and aloof the new Eric is soft and sweet and Sookie cannot resist him. They begin a short but hot romance that lasts until Eric gets his memory back. For awhile he does not remember the tryst with Sookie but the blood they shared between them during that time has bonded them even further and Eric cannot help but notice he has a very soft spot for Sookie and always has. Sookie is still weak in the knees for Eric too, especially when he greets her by saying "Hello my lover."
In book nine of the series Sookie and Eric can no longer deny that they have a strong attachment and their romance begins anew. Eric even asks Sookie to leave Bon Temps and move in with him, which he has never done in his centuries as a vampire. But an old flame may be ready to ignite between Sookie and Bill again. Which vampire can claim Sookie's heart? Well, I know which one I think deserves her...

Buffy and Spike
#3 Sexiest Sci-Fi Couple
Buffy and Spike are one of the absolute sexiest vampire/human couples ever to hit the screen. What made their relationship so spectacular on Buffy The Vampire Slayer
To his great dismay Spike discovered that all their adventures together caused him to fall in love with her and yet she still loathed him as a soulless monster. Eventually after Buffy dies and Spike is crushed, Buffy's best friend (a witch) finds a way to resurrect her and Buffy is pulled from heaven back into her personal hell of fighting vampires and demons once again. The only person she can confide in is Spike and they eventually begin a hot and steamy relationship that quite frequently results in property damage.
What began as torrid and ill advised becomes one of the most amazing love stories of all time as Spike seeks to redeem himself by getting his soul back so he can deserve her and Buffy realizes that the man who she very often called a monster is her greatest champion.
If hot, steamy, and incredibly sexy is what you are looking for in a romance and you love vampires the way I do, then check out the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. It is amazing in its entirety but for Buffy and Spike fans, seasons 5-7 are the most critical.

Edward and Bella
#4 Sexiest Sci-Fi Couple
Edward is vampire and Bella is the new student at Forks High school in Washington. Never before caring about his human classmates the immortalized 17 year old finds himself drawn to Bella and in fact her blood calls to him like none other ever has and he very nearly kills her on her first day.But not wanting to be the monster he has kept as bay for 80 years and being intrigued by the fact that Bella's is the only mind he cannot read he begins spending time trying to figure her out. Bella quickly discovers his secret and is not afraid. Finally Edward has a confidant and they fall in love, a lion and a lamb.
So begins their love story as they get to know each other, vampire and a human, inextricably drawn to each other. Both quickly realize that even with all the obstacles between them they can't bear to be apart and they start spending every waking moment together. Everything hits the fan though when Bella accompanies the Cullen's into the woods to watch them play a game of vampire baseball. Unexpectedly a group of 3 nomad vampires traveling through the area find them and ask to play the game. The nomad vampire James set his sites irrevocably on Bella as his next kill.
Edward must now figure out how to protect Bella as she is stalked by a ruthless vampire. Edward can't imagine losing the soul mate he has waited almost a century for. The book and movie has many twists and turns but by the end Bella knows that she wants to spend eternity with Edward and she wants him to turn her into a vampire.

Buffy and Angel
#5 Sexiest Sci-Fi Couple
Is it weird to follow Buffy and Spike with Buffy and Angel? Not if you are a fan of the series! Long before there was a Buffy and Spike there was Angel.
Angel is Buffy's first love and he is also a vampire although unlike most vampires he has a soul. His soul was actually returned to him by a gypsy curse so that he would live out his life in suffering knowing how many lives he took. He spent many years wandering aimlessly in a deep depression until he was guided to Buffy to assist her as the Slayer and help her fight evil. Buffy begins to develop a crush on Angel before she even knows he is vampire and soon it doesn't matter.
Angel becomes her partner in fighting evil, her first love, and her first lover. What makes their relationship so exciting is that they have great obstacles to overcome including the day when Angel once again loses his soul and begins to kill her friends. Buffy has to do the unimaginable when she kills Angel and pushes him through a hell gate! But love does conquer death and Angel returns. He and Buffy reunite for a short time before they decide that their love is too dangerous, as any true happiness felt by Angel reverses the gypsy curse. It is a beautiful love story although a far bit tamer than Buffy and Spike. Geez Louise Buffy is a lucky gal!

- *sigh!* I had forgotten about Max and Liz. They are the greatest, going through so much and still stronger than ever at the end! While Eric and Sookie will be close to my heart, there is no couple like Max and Liz. I think because it was done so well onscreen. Let's see if Eric and Sookie turn out the same on tv.

MickBeth is the nickname given to the dynamic couple Mick St. John and Beth Turner from the CBS Moonlight series
Mick is a vampire private investigator and Beth Turner is a very human investigative journalist. When Beth was 4 years old Mick saved her from a psychotic vampire who also happened to be his wife. He ended up killing his wife to protect Beth and years later they meet again and partner up on various cases they are both working on. It doesn't take long before sparks begin to fly. Mick is reluctant to get involved with a human and Beth has a boyfriend but yet their destinies always seem to intertwine, even when they try to stay away from each other.
Their romance leads them on some wild adventures where they are very often the target of human and vampire would-be assassins. The return of Mick's vampire wife Coraline also presents a problem as does the mortality "cure" that Mick finds. All he wants is to be human again and spend his life with Beth but when Beth is kidnapped by vampires will he trade his newfound mortality for a pair of fangs to save her? And can a relationship between a human and a vampire work, long term? Watch Moonlight and find out.

Kyle and Jessi

Kyle is a young man found wandering naked in the woods. He has no memory of who he is and he has no belly button. He is placed in a home with a therapist and her family and they hope to help Kyle recover his memories. They end up being led on a wild journey to find out that Kyle was born at 16 years old, after living from conception in an incubation tube. His brain power can rival a computer and he has many special abilities. He was set for termination after he downloaded secret information from the corporation that created him but he was saved by one of the employees. Within the confines of his normal family he begins a normal life with school, peer pressure, and his first love... a young girl named Amanda.But Kyle was also not the only super human this corporation created. They also made a female named Jessi and she is introduced into the story as an unstable and reckless person, perhaps because she did not have the stability that Kyle had after coming out of the pod. Whereas Kyle is adopted and loved by a special family, Jessi is manipulated and tricked repeatedly by the corporation that made them. Because she doesn't know who to trust, she makes a series of bad decisions that make other people wary of her and she betrays Kyle by invading his mind and stealing data.
She quickly develops feelings for Kyle but he is so in love with Amanda he does not notice and often hurts her. They are often thrown together though as they discover their past, solve the mysteries surrounding their creation, and protect the people in their lives from the danger that seems to follow them. As time progresses, Amanda breaks up with Kyle, in large part because she senses that Jessi is his soul mate. Without Amanda in his life Kyle spends more time with Jessie and he falls in love with her too... conflicted that he loves two special women. While his first love is still in his heart he also recognizes that he and Jessi are opposite sides of the same coin... meant to be together. Together they are more powerful than they are alone and with Kyle's love and support Jessi can finally feel safe and at peace with who she is.
Their love story is bittersweet and ever so special.

Bill and Sookie
#8 Sexiest Sci-Fi Couple
Bill Compton and Sookie Stackhouse began their romance throughout the pages of the Sookie Stackhouse books 
Sookie is a barmaid in Bon Temps, Louisiana and Bill is a vampire who comes in for a bottle of True Blood. You see vampires have come out of the coffin and told the world of their existence now that they can survive on synthetic blood manufactured in Japan. On the night Sookie meets Bill (her first vamp) he is accosted outside by vampire drainers who want to drain his blood and sell it as a drug. Sookie hears their plans because she can read minds and she manages to save Bill's life. Bill has to return the favor after Sookie is attacked and nearly killed for her trouble and Bill cures her with his blood. They begin a passionate yet troubled romance as Sookie's special gift does not go unnoticed by other vampires who want her for their own uses. Bill has a dark secret he is hiding as well. One thing is for sure, Sookie's life is never the same!

Jesse and Lestat
#9 Sexiest Sci-Fi Couple
Of course we know all about Lestat from the Ann Rice novels that started with Interview with a Vampire. In the movie adaptation of Queen of the Damned Lestat begins a flirtation with a human girl named Jesse. Jesse is a Talamascan, which is a watcher or investigator of the paranormal. Her mentor gives her the private journals of Lestat and as she reads them she falls in love with the vampire Lestat and begins trying to find him.
Lestat is fascinated by this human who places herself in danger recklessly to be able to meet him and he marvels at her ability to see the man he used to be in the monster he is now. When Lestat, who is now a rock n' roll icon, awakens the Queen of all vampires Akasha, with his music, she abducts him to be her consort. Jesse and her new found vampire friends and family race to save Lestat and the world as we know it. Under orders from Akasha he drains Jesse but leaves her barely alive so that he can turn her after he kills Akasha. They walk hand in hand into the night, immortal companions.
While the movie did not get rave reviews I actually liked it, mostly because of the Lestat and Jesse romantic angle.

Selene and Michael
#10 Sexiest Sci-Fi Couple
Selene and Michael appear in Underworld and Underworld Evolution. Selene is a vampire death dealer. She believes her human family was slaughtered by the mortal enemy of the vampire, werewolves. Her vampire sire, Victor, gave her the gift of immortality so she could seek revenge as a vampire enforcer and hunter of werewolves.
In her hunts she discovers that werewolves are stalking a human doctor in the subway. Curious she decides to find out what they want with him. Michael is the doctor and actually part of an ancient bloodline that may be able stop the war between vamps and werewolves and align the two bloodlines.
Selene kidnaps Michael in order to find out what the werewolves have planned for him but unfortunately he has been bitten and will soon be her enemy. But she cannot force herself to dislike him. When push comes to shove she discovers that she will protect him, even from her own kind, and take sides with the enemy.

- My absolute fave has and always will be is Spike and Buffy:) Even though I still do love Max and Liz! I think you shoulda put Michael/Maria,Stefan/Elena,Willow/Oz,Willow/Tara,Xander/Anya and I also really like even though they never were a couple was Kyle and Isabel.. Great choices though.

- You pick a lot of great couples and despite so many fans and history against them, I think you should have added Clark and Lana from Smallville to this list. It is really hard to choose the ones you do have. Spike/Buffy are hot. Angel/Buffy are incredibly tragic. I don't watch True Blood, but I love Selene/Michael and Lestat/Jesse. Liz/Max are great too.
I guess I'll have to go with Buffy and Angel.
