Top 10 places to visit in the Philippines

I have been coming to the Philippines as a tourist for the last 5 years, spending several months there at a time. I really love it there, so I thought I would make a lense here to share my favourite places of the Philippines.

I'm not sure if it will be exactly ten places, it will probably start out with less than that and end up being much more than that. All the places I've listed here are really worth a visit though, and it's very hard to rank them, but overall the ones higher up on the list would be the places I've had most fun visiting. Please do leave feedback in the guestbook or message me if you have any questions.

1. Cebu - best place to live

Cebu city is in my opinion the best place to live in the Philippines, at least if you want to do business or have the conveniences of living in a large city. Cebu city has around one million people there and is located in the middle of the Philippines on Cebu island. It's much smaller than Manila, and there is way less traffic and noice there. The main advantage however, is that it is so easy to get away from the city life and get out to beach resorts and Mactan or just rent a boat and go out at sea. There are lots of beautiful small islands outside of Cebu to visit, great for swimming, snorkling or just relaxing at the beach.

2. Bohol - great place to visit

I visited Bohol last year and it was a great trip. Both the beaches there are really nice to hang out at as well as the other tourist attractions. You can see the main attractions there in 2-3 days, but feel free to stay longer if you enjoy just hanging out relaxing on the beach. The tarsiers as well as the chocolate hills are the most popular things to see, both of these attractions can be done in one day. I suggest renting either a motorbike or a car with a driver to explore the island and see all the attractions.

3. Boracay - Everyone goes there

Borocay is by far the most well known tourist destination in the Philippines, and there is a good reason it is. Boracay has a really great beach, and it's a very fun place to visit for sure. 3-4 days is enough to see most of the what there is to see one the island, as the island is pretty small. I've only been there once, and I think everyone who spends some time in the Philippines should check it out at least ones, but in my opinion there are just too many tourists in the high season there now.

4. Palawan - Beautiful nature and beaches

I've only been to Palawan once, but I really had a great time. It's an relaxing place to visit and you won't see too many tourists there apart from at the bigger resorts. All around the island you will find beautiful beaches, and there are also lots of other attractions to check out. One of my favourites was the underground river of Sabang, on the east coast of Palawan.

Hi! Thank you so much for sharing your top places...I have a question though, how would you best advise getting from Cebu to Palawan? and indeed from Cebu to Borocay? I have one week in the Phili's and not a diver, so after a relaxing one.
