Whereas the word and puzzle games like Scrabble are very fun, Bookworm Adventures takes the whole genre to another level. This game is an "RPG" (role playing game)because your character Lex the Bookworm powers up, levels up, and can choose different items while you unscramble letters to make words.

It seems impossible to make a simple straight-forward RPG for all ages, but the player is never confused or bogged down with this spelling RPG: at its heart BWA is a spelling and vocabulary puzzle game. Plants vs Zombies is a relatively new game, and I just started it- AND I AM HOOKED. But I can see where this game will climb the charts for casual games. This is not your typical tower defense game- there is something new to be discovered with each level. Plants vs Zombies seems to have long lasting appeal, with so many levels, mini-games, puzzles,and survival mode. Full of dark, twisted, humor, and tons of REPLAY VALUE. This game is a MUST BUY.

Omigosh...the graphics for Bejeweled Twist really push the casual game genre. Bejeweled Twist is a 3-D matching game, with an outer pace motif. It's all about spinning gems. Bejeweled Twist music is awesome, too, and is the sound effects. Bejeweled Twist is yet another addictive PC game for all ages, and would make a great cheap Christmas gift or birthday gift.

For me, Zuma is the game that started it all for me in the for casual games for the PC. The office receptionist started to play games during work, and she got co-workers hooked on Zuma. The next thing I knew, everyone was playing Zuma at work- and these are men and women in their 30's and 40's! As I was standing over their shoulders, I truly did not see what the big deal was. Of course, after I finally played Zuma myself, I realized how exciting it is.

Chuzzle is a fun casual game that has a 1970's theme. It's another matching game and puzzle game, similar to Bejeweled Twist, except this time you move Chuzzles around. Chuzzles remind me Star Trek's tribbles- they are very cute! Chuzzle's music is great, too.

Chuzzle is a very enjoyable game, and I'm sure if there ever is a Chuzzle 2, more depth can be added to it.

With Bejeweled being the original flagship title for PopCap Games, it was only a matter of time before Bejeweled 2. Bejeweled 2 expandes upon Bejeweled 1, and has secret games modes, different gems, and an excellent soundtrack. I highly recommend Bejeweled 2, this game is super-addictive!

The Wizard's Pen is yet another great puzzle game, in this case it combines the find hidden object game with Classic Concentration and Memory. Wizard Pen's theme song is top-notch, as is the storyline.

Wizard's Pen is so charming and fun, but only the first time through. Whereas most of the other casual games on this list can be played over and over, The Wizard's Pen is a one hit wonder, but a great one at that!
