Get the Top 10 Stock Market Books of all time
Investing is a lot more complex than most people realize.
You would not expect your doctor to have gone to a weekend workshop, and then opened a medical practice. Yet most people don't even take the time to go to a weekend workshop, yet they think they are qualified to invest their life's savings. The books on this list are the best I found in over quarter of a century of studying the markets. They will open your eyes to a whole new world of investing. The market has been very volatile recently - do you know how to protect yourself from this volatility? Do you know how to take advantage of the volatility? Do you have a short term and long term investment plan?
[9/19/2008] In view of the 1 trillion dollars that the government took out of our pockets to save Wall Street fat cats, and in view of the curbs on short selling - we should forget the notion that we have a free market in this country. What we have is a game that's rigged - the only people who can escape this - to some extent - are day traders. Everybody else is destined to lose.
I plan to use temporary pops to unload my portfolios and redirect my money to other investments. If you plan to continue playing the stock market, Van Tharp's day trading book is a must. The market is going down - fast.

Well, this has certainly been a wild ride in the markets.
Now that SP500 is up around 30% - executives are selling the stock they own at an unprecedented pace - I say this does not bode well for the summer.
"Sell in May and go away" - an old Wall Stree bit of advice - may not be a bad idea this year.
5 Best Trading Books
Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom
If you read only one book on investing - this is it.
If you try to invest without understanding concepts in this book, it's like driving a car with your eyes closed.
Safe Strategies for Financial Freedom
Written by the same author as #1 book on our list, this one is less intense, for people who don't want to check their investments daily.
Financial Freedom Through Electronic Day Trading
If you ever wondered about day trading - this book is for you.
If you never cared to day trade - you should still consider this book for it's discussion of risk control, and detiled description of your stock market competitors - the day traders and the market makers.
Market Wizards: Interviews with Top Traders
Interviews with poeple who trade the markets for a living - the most successful people in the world. If you believe that markets are random, you really need to read this book.
Reminiscences of a Stock Operator (Wiley Investment Classics)
Authobiography of one of the greatest traders of all time - who made his fortune ( actually, several fortunes, since he tended to lose them) in the early years of the 20th century.
Market Wizards (see # 4 above) considered it the best book about trading.

One Up On Wall Street : How To Use What You Already Know To Make Money In The Market
Peter Lynch is the legendary manager(now retired) of the Fidelity Magellan fund. He is considered one of the best mutual fund managers of all times. Here he explains how ordinary people can get extraordinary returns from the stock market.
Beating the Street
Peter Lynch again - this is more detailed discussion of some of the strategies he used when managing Magellan Fund.
Harvesting Profits on Wall Street: Essays in Investing
Another legendary money manager - still running his fund.
First page of chapter 1, showing the impact of inflation on the US dollar, is alone worth the price of the book. Rest of the book consists of articles on the economic trends, stock market, and investing. Very clear and lucid - written by a guy who does it every day.
The Intelligent Investor: The Classic Text on Value Investing
This book was written long time ago - yet the principles from this book are the foundation for many of the greatest money managers of all time. Benjamin Graham was a professor at Columbia. He ran his own successful fund. His most famous student is currently the richest man in the world - investor Warren Buffet.
How I Made $2,000,000 In The Stock Market
This book tells the story of a world class dancer who during late 1950s and early 1960s, while touring the world with a dance company, made millions in the stock market. He explains how he created his trading system.
I strongly recommend you read and re-read his story of how listening to the Wall Street gurus and the financial press negatively impacted his investment results. Only when he stopped paying them any attention, his returns soared.
