Best Xbox 360 games
Top 10
Here, I will bestow upon you my wisdom of the top 10 Xbox 360 games. Now, deciding which games are the best isn't easy. You have to remember, there are many different game types out there today, so you can't rate them all on the same specifics. For example, it wouldn't be fair to compare a 1st person shooter with an RPG game because they both have different aspects that make them what they are. Here are some reasons these games made the cut and landed a place on the top 10 Xbox 360 video games list.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - This game is a superb 1st person shooter. This game combines many techniques and obstacles which improved the game play immensely since Call of Duty 3. The online play is amazing, and unlike other games you can actually play ranked matched with your friends. This game has many different game types online, and is in my eyes the best game on the Xbox 360 platform. Infinity Ward has really out done themselves this time. This game was ranked 1st on GameSpy's best Xbox 360 games of 2007.
Halo 3 - In my eyes, Halo has been one of the best selling games since the release of the first Halo. It seems that Bungie makes each game better with every addition to the Halo legacy. With from all the interactive scenery you can use at your disposal, the game has invented new way to defeat your foe. The new vehicles in Halo 3 are also a plus, and that's not including the new gun and other accessories.
Grand Theft Auto IV - Since the release of the first ever Grand Theft Auto for the Playstation console, there has been a lot of controversy over this game. I personally love this game. There is so much to do on it that you can find yourself twisted in the game play for hours on end. The multiplayer is a little laggy at times, but the content of the game is amazing! You can actually free aim in this addition to the GTA Franchise, and that's a plus to any true gamer. Also, you have to actually aim when doing a drive-bye now! This game is definitely a game you will be able to pick up in 3-5 years and still be able to play without getting bored quickly.
Army of Two - This game raises the standards on 3rd person shooters. Not only is gaining agro (the attention of the AI) one of the main features in this game, the title speaks for itself; there is only two of you. One of the coolest features I think the game has is the ability to use your surroundings in a way that I haven't seen before in any shooter game. In this game, you can not only fire back to back, but you can also do many other techniques to interact with your partner and flank the opponent. You can do anything from standing behind your partner while he holds a shield to standing back to back firing at the AI or other players online.
Rock Band - This game is amazing for anyone who has a lot of time, and friends who do too. You perform hit records with electronic instruments that include the guitar, bass guitar, drums, and singing. Now, if you don't have friends/family that are willing to play often, then this game may not be for you, unless you can get Xbox live. Now, Xbox live makes most games more exciting, but in this case, it brings this game to a whole new level. You can perform songs with people world wide, and choose which instrument you play.
Guitar Hero 3 - Since the boom in Guitar Hero players that were attracted to Guitar Hero 2, this gaming franchise has set the standards on song performance games everywhere. In this game, unlike in the previous Guitar Hero games, in this one you can fight bosses, and in the end, you fight the devil in the ultimate duel of guitar heroes. This game is the better choice if you don't have people to play Rock Band with.
Ninja Gaiden II - I would have to say that since the release of this game I have been hooked to it. The fast paced battles and immense amounts of gore intertwine you with the well produced story line and action. Though the camera angle has been shifted a little bit (not in our favor) the game is still an awesome game to play. Also, as you unlock different things at different difficulties, the replay value is nice.
Project Gotham Racing 4 - I would have to say that the new weather effects and motor cycles amp up the game play to an astounding level. Speaking of the weather effect, you can go into 1st person driver mode and see the rain on the windshield of your car/motorcycle! That is amazing! You also use your windshield wiper to wipe the water off your windshield. The best addition to the PGR series is the Career mode. It is very challenging, and the goal, like most racing games, is to be the best racer. Throughout the game you ear Kudos, by doing various things in the game and you can use these Kudos to unlock cars and other various things.
Gears of War - This game set the standard to 3rd person shooters back in August of 2006. Since the creation though, there have been other 3rd person shooters that have surpassed this game. All in all it is still one of the most popular 3rd person shooters in the gaming market today. One thing I like about this game is the fact that it has a good variety of weapons at which you can use at your disposal. The only bad part is that, to me, it feels like a 3rd person Halo game, which is a little weird at first.
BioShock - This game has probably the best story line of any Xbox game ever. The graphics are nicely polished, and the game runs smoothly. The game does not have multiplayer, but with all the content in this game, it is worth the investment without multiplayer. This game was second on GameSpy's best of 2007 list.
