Where, Oh, Where To Start?
1. PICK YOUR SUBJECT:Make sure that you are creating a lens about a subject you are 100% passionate about! I can't stress enough the relevance of this. If your passionate about your subject that passion will overflow into your words.
2. CREATE QUALITY CONTENT:
Consider quality over quantity. Content is king in the world of the internet. Provide useful and informative information. Also consider that you may be writing about something your an expert in. Keep in mind that many may not share that expertise, if you are offering "how to's" make sure to write it as if you where explaining it to your grandma.
Advertising Your New Lens:
The 12 Steps to Success!
WAYS TO ADVERTISE:1) Forums (Make sure to visit SquidU and post, also try starting a squidoo you rate mine I rate yours post if allowed in your favorite form.)
2) Links From Websites (Don't have your own website? If you have a lens you do! Use it as your website to request link exchanges, Traffic exchanges work great too.)
3) Exchange a lens roll or two or three.....
4) Blogs (Make sure if you have a blog, make mention of your lens!)
5) Email to friends
6) Bookmarking Sites (stumple upon, d.i.g.g, reddit, etc.)
7) Add tags (relevant to your lens: "Fishing" would be an appropriate tag for a fishing lens. The more the better!)
8) Myspace (groups, bulletins, comments, etc)
9) Join Squidoo Groups (Search and join all relevant groups, especially ones in the top hundred.)
10) Exchange Lens Rankings with other lensmasters. (Simply messege lensmasters with relevant lens content, You never know until you try!)
11) Leave useful and informative info on other lenses blurts and guestbooks. (This is even more helpful when it is on a lens that has relevant content as yours.)
12) Just remember, MORE IS BETTER! The more tactics you use the better results you will get! I used every single one of these tactics myself to achieve top ranking lenses. You can to!

- I think if people just concentrate on more traffic to their lenses and make their lense better, then they will get the desired result. Just do it! You Dont have to get it right! You just have to get it going!

- I did a lot of your tips BEFORE reading your lens (just found it today). I have to say these tips DO get results! It took me exactly 43 days to do it. With a lot of hard work & promoting my Baby & Kids Freebies lens made it to the top 100. It is, as of July 16, 2008, currently ranked #89. I can hardly believe it! I can only hope that the ranking stays above 100 for awhile so I can enjoy it for a bit longer.
