Top Chef is one of Bravo TV's reality TV show.
It's purpose is to find the next hot chef, and give them the funds to start their own restaurant. This is done through a series of challenges (sometimes as individuals and sometimes as teams), to prove their capabilities as a chefs, in both the ability to create tasty foods with pretty presentations, to working well with others, to being creative and quick on their feet.

The 4th Season set in Chicago has just concluded, and the show had it's first female winner, Stephanie Izard.
The 5th Season set in New York premieres November 12, 2008.
The current host is Padma Lakshmi.

I LOVE TOP CHEF!!! I'm sad that Andrew got kicked off last week, though; I really thought Lisa should have gone home! The biggest benefit that I see to this competition is not only the restaurant capital funding the winner receives at teh end of the show, but it certainly can't hurt their reputation, either!
