My Top 5 Cigarette Brands

Ranked #1,719 in Squidoo Community, #153,520 overall

My Own Pick of Cigarette Brands

I've been a smoker since 4th year high school, when I was 15 yrs. old, making it 7 years now. Back then, the reason I tried my first cigarette was plain curiosity. There were times I've tried to quit, but I always came back to this "bad" habit. Not because it looked cool and sophisticated especially for women like me, but because it is my stress reliever. As a nurse, I know that it's really bad for my health, but cigarettes were like brain vitamins to me during my college days, making me think more clearly, and my stress catcher as well.

This list is not intended to encourage people to smoke. As the famous commercial ad goes, "Cigarette Smoking is Dangerous to your Health." The sole purpose of this list is to share my favorite brands to fellow smokers and hoping to get suggestions of other brands that I should try as well, since there's no chance that I might quit.

#5 West ICE

West is a German tobacco brand owned by the British company Imperial Tobacco. West has other brands like West Talk, West Silver, West Blue, West Rich Blue, and of course West ICE, which has 7 mg tar, 0.6 mg nicotine as well as 7 mg carbon monoxide. (Wikipedia) I love menthol cigarettes, and since West ICE is spearmint flavored, this brand certainly belongs to my top 5.

#4 DJ Mix (Strawberry)

There are different varieties of DJ Mix cigarettes: Lemon, Strawberry, Apple, and my favorite among those is Strawberry. DJ Mix is one of the best brands I've tried so far, but like West Ice, it's not that economical, especially since DJ gets consumed so fast.

#3 Black Bat

Aside from the cool black color up to the filter, I love this brand because of the taste. I heard that it also comes with different flavors like vanilla, cinnamon, etc, but I've only tried the chocolate one. It's sweet tasting making me lick my lips while smoking. Yummy!

#2 Marlboro Lights(Gold)

Marlboro is a brand of cigarettes made by Philip Morris, and is named after Great Marlborough Street, the location of its original London Factory. This is a popular brand, unforgettable because of the ads and its sponsorship with motor racing (Wikipedia). With regards to the taste, there are lots of other cigarettes which taste better than this. (That is solely my opinion). But I should say that I have history with Marlboro. During my younger years where smoking is an everyday thing with my friends, we students should resort to cheaper brands. Marlboro gives off lots of smoke than the other brands with the same price, and it's fairly economical than the better tasting ones, (like my top 3 to 5) so it used to be our brand for everyday sessions. (We used candies as remedy to the taste). My friendship with Marlboro dates back the first time I puffed my first smoke.

My first year in college was the most unforgettable part of my life, because there I found my two best friends. They were my school mates in high school, but it wasn't until we were in college that we became like sisters already. For everyday we were happy in their dormitory, eating meals together like a family, drinking occasionally, and smoking every single day and night. Marlboro Lights was the witness of it all. I can also remember when they made limited edition flip tops with different designs. I collected all of them and hid them at their dorm, but sad to say, I lost them now, because obviously I couldn't take them home. My bffs also recycled a ketchup bottle, put some glow in the dark designs with my name written on it. We collected all the ashes inside and it looked beautiful as the ashes piled up, but like the flip top packs, I don't have it anymore.

#1 Marlboro Lights Menthol (Green)

Marlboro Lights (Gold) used to be my number one brand, until I switched to Marlboro Menthol. The Marlboro Red gives off the largest amount of smoke, but what I love about these two is that they give enough smoke for my tricks, and they aren't as strong as the red one. It usually made me dizzy, especially during hot days. I love the cool effect the Marlboro Menthol brings to my mouth, especially while chewing menthol candy. It can also help unclog my nose when I have colds. (Of course that is not medical advice). Those are the reasons I switched to it.

When I saw the schedule I had no doubt that Marlboro will be the first place. All statistics show that. Not long ago I read an article on the topic even this: http://www.cigarette-store.org/cigarettes-news/best-selling-cigarettes-brands-across-the-tobacco-industry

A group of my close friends have smoked since high school 20 years ago, usually Marlboro Red or Green. I know how difficult it is to quit.
