How to get a first photo shoot?

Models/Photographers contact a photographer/model to have a photo shoot done. You can easily look up and find them in phone books or online,etc. Ask if they will do Time for Prints or Time for CD, your time in exchange for prints/CD.

Checklist of things that should be discussed.

Questions that should be asked when photographers & models plan a session together.

1) What kind of photographs?
(Parents of minor if you dislike anything, tell the photographer. Be clear on what you allow and not allow.)

2)What are the posing limits ( a)photographers & b)models)?

3)How will the photographs be used?

Session Details:

4) Where & when?
5) How long will the session last?
6) What is being provided for the model (e.g. makeup, wardrobe)?
7) What does the model need to bring?
8) Can/will the model bring an escort?
(If a photographer doesn't allow you as a model to bring an escort, find another photographer....Parents always keep your minor in view at all times.)

9)Who, besides the model & photographer, will be there?
10) Contact information should be exchanged.
11) When is the cancellation deadline?
12) Penalties for no-shows, for being late, for being unprepared?
13)What model release will be used?
(Ask photographer to send to you a copy before session so you can review and change things before hand)

14)Will the photographer be signing a release, too? If so, what?

Compensation
15) Who is paying whom, for how much?

16) If an hourly rate is being used, when does the clock start, stop?

17) How many images can the model expect?
18) When can the model expect to receive her prints / CD?
19) Will the model receive unprocessed / large images?
20) What usage rights does the model get?
21) Can the model edit the images?

22)a.If the photographer sells the image, can the model expect a percentage? b. If so, how much?
