While no one food is a miracle worker, there are some foods that have been proven to be incredibly health-supportive. The benefits of these foods range from boosts in energy to decreased risk of cancer. Every food listed below should be added as regular fixtures to your diet!

Superfoods From Around the World

Foods You Can Feel Great About Eating!

1. Quinoa- There is so much to say about this amazing grain! Quinoa (pronouced keen-wah) originated in South America, and it is an excellent source of vegetarian protein. Even better, it is also delicious to eat and easy to prepare! It is the food responsible for providing the Incas with the energy to run long distances in the Andes mountains. Luckily, we are now able to enjoy its benefits, and it is becoming easier to find in your local grocery store.

2. Goji- The goji has been known as a superfood for many centuries in China. The dried berries are loaded with antioxidants, especially beta-carotene. These small, chewy dried berries taste like a cross between cranberries and cherries and have the texture of raisins. They are easily found in Whole Foods and Trader Joes.

3. Greens- The health benefits to greens cannot be overstated. Greens provide many vitamins and minerals that you body needs, including iron, folic acid, & calcium. To get the biggest bang for your buck, cooked greens are the way to go. Try a range of greens, from beet greens, bok choy, kale, Swiss chard, turnip greens, and more! Adding greens regularly to your diet can provide MAJOR health improvements- give them a try!

4. Berries- Berries are my personal favorite superfood because they are so delicious! Blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are easiest to find in your local grocery store. Eat them alone or with cereal or yogurt. Who knew health food could taste this great?

5. White tea- Although all teas are healthy and recommended, white tea is the least-known in the US. White tea has a delicate taste, and it is often infused with other flavors, such as pomegranate and peach. It is known around the world as a "beauty food" that improves skin tone. Replace your morning coffee with this tea and reap the benefits!
