Make no mistake this is an excellent movie and if you did not catch it in the theatres it is a must see on DVD. Excellent acting, directing and plot line development. One of the best movies I have ever seen. Best described as a dark fairy tale it enchants all. Violent at times, this is not for the weak stomachs or younger children.

Brilliant, different and mesmerizing come to mind. Few people noticed the movie was in Spanish with English subtitles it was so engaging. A dark fairy tale riddled with moments of light and with a chilling ending in a battle between good and evil. Remarkable work. One of my 10 favorite movies of all time.

Go ahead, disagree. I dare you.

It was good, but the gore took me by surprise as did the ending. It was so much darker than I was prepared for, but very imaginative.

Pan's Labyrinth pits the imagination of a young girl against the evil of fascism. The cinematography and special effects are some of the best I have seen. The viewer is left with very real feelings of sympathy for the film's protagonist and hate for its villain - a sign of great film making. This is a film that stays with you for some time.

Fantasy. She was dealing with heavy stuff and in true kid for she imagined all of the mystical creatures and lands in order to deal with her unpleasant reality.
