This Squidoo lens is about no fetish. Rather, it is dedicated to confronting torture wherever it exists, seeking to abolish the practice, especially when it is exercised by governments.
The confrontation of torture leads us to disturbing places... such as looking at ourselves in the mirror. Those of us who live in countries that we think of as free, such as the United States, are increasingly mired in new regimes of torture, executed, ironically, in the name of a war on terror.

This banana is angry, and his species isn't even involved. Why? Because he just found out that the hundreds of instances of U.S. government water torture were used by the Bush administration to try to drag the claim out of detainees that somehow Saddam Hussein and Iraq were behind the attacks of September 11, 2001. Why? Because George W. Bush and Dick Cheney wanted to go to war. Hundreds of drownings to get false information in order to go off to a war that killed hundreds of thousands of people, killed thousands of Americans, blew a trillion dollar hole in the budget, and for what? For the pursuit of a lie, of weapons of mass destruction that did not exist. Arrr! The question is not why this banana is so angry. The question is, why aren't you?
