Tottenham Hotspur - also known as Tottenham or Spurs - is a professional football club, playing in the English Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur is a moderately successful club, winning two league titles and 8 FA Cups. Tottenham Hotspur was the first club in the 20th century to win the double - the league title and the FA Cup - in the same season.
In European competitions, Tottenham Hotspur has won the UEFA Cupwinners Cup (now the UEFA cup) once, and the UEFA Cup twice.
Tottenham Hotspur plays their home games at White Heart Lane, a 36,000 capacity all-seater stadium, and the clubs home ground since 1899. As their home games continues to sell out the club is considering moving to another venue, one option being the Wembley Stadium.
The majority shareholder in Tottenham Hotspur is ENIC Sports PLC., an investment company founded by British billionaire Joseph Lewis. Enic is run by Daniel Lewy, who is also the chairman of the club.
Tottenham Hotspur's manager is Harry Redknap, a manager known for developing new talent, by mixing them with proven players. He has been nicknamed Harry Houdini, due to his ability of narrowly escaping relegation with the teams he has managed.
Team Captain is Ledley King, a strong and lightning fast central defender, who is rarely beaten for pace. He is regularly included in the England Squad.
