According to Wikipedia:
"Touch typing is typing using the sense of touch rather than sight to find the keys. Touch typing usually places the eight fingers in a horizontal row along the middle of the keyboard (the home row) and has them reach for other keys...

But in effect touch typing is so much more than that. It is the way most of us comunicate in today's computerised world.

If you think of all the things we do in a day, most of them iclude some form of typing. Weather we write a report for work or school, answering a friend's email, chatting on the internet or even SMSing a text message to someone. We all need to type and type fast.

Here are a few tips for those learning to type:

1. It is recommended to repeat each lesson at least twice in order to learn to type faster, appreciate typing speed changes and to better exercise your typing.

2. Copying random letters allows you to remember where each letter is positioned on the keyboard; it also helps you learn to type by teaching you how to position your hands and fingers in the right position during the "real" typing. This is helpful while typing words as it will help you learn to type faster

3. After a few lessons each person finds their preferred way of practicing. If you feel that typing letters has become too easy for you then you can learn to type by practicing on typing words and sentences.

4. Most speed typists consider speed before accuracy. The reason is that while you learn to type accurately the typing speed is slower. After typing speed is achieved you can learn to type accurately, while not compromising your speed.
