Best toys for a 6 month old baby
When my son was six months old he had a lot of toys. However there were some he hardly touched and others he loved and would play with everyday. In this lens I have tried to highlight the toys I would recommend for a six month old baby based on the toys my son loved and played with. I think when buying for a sixth month old it's good to choose toys that have lots of different play options so they are likely to play with them everyday without getting bored. It's also good to choose toys that will last for a little while and grow with the child. I have tried to recommend toys for different price ranges. I hope you find some inspiration on what to buy a six month old baby in the suggestions below.
Baby Einstein Animal Exploration Tunnel
Ball pits for babies
Musical Activity tables
Chicco Music 'N Play Table
This is probably more suited to babies coming up to a year but this is a this is a good toy as you can use the toy as a piano or turn it upside down and use it as a construction base for many things including building bricks.
Stacking cups
Fisher-Price Jumperoo
More stacking toys
Little Super Star Classical Stacker
This is a toy which is aimed at between 6 months to 36 months. We had this toy and my son loved it. It's a classic stacking toy but plays music and lights up when the rings are put on the base. It took him a while to be able to put the rings on (at about 12 months) but he used to enjoy taking them off and looking at the flashing lights too. This is one he used to play with on a daily basis.
Fisher-Price Rock-A-Stack
Aimed at between 6 months and 2 year. This is a classic toy which will keep baby entertained with play while developing cognotive and motor skills and at a very inexpensive price - you can't go wrong.
Lamaze Pond Stackers
These are little characters with magnetics in them so they are easier to stack. Baby can stack them up and knock them down. Each little character has a rattle in them too. They are aimed at 6 months +.
Educational toys for 6 month old
I think the Vtech infant learning rhyme and discover book is excellent for learning. When my son was 6 months he was fascinated and attracted to musical toys that lit up and would have loved this. It has three light up buttons which are different characters and easy for baby to press. It has 7 nursery rhymes which help introduce baby to language and melody. It also introduces vocabulary such as different animals.
Another great educational toy is Baby Einstein Count and Compose Piano. It lights up which attracts baby's attention. Press the keys to compose your own music. Or, change the play to number mode and get an introduction to numbers in English, Spanish and French!
Best toys for 6 month old boy
Why not buy a Fisher Prices Amazing Animals Sing and Go Choo Choo as a first train toy. This is a great educational toy and is well designed to stimulate the senses. It lights up and plays catchy songs to help introduce language. There are lots of animals to learn about. The animals have movable joints, textured feet, and teethable ears. There is a stationary mode for young babies but there is also a moving mode so when baby starts crawling they will be able to follow it around. The reviews on Amazon are great for this toy.
Another "boy" themed toy is cars so why not get your little one (boy or girl) a light & sound buggy driver. This is a great on the go toy and can keep your baby entertained in the stroller. It's a dashboard with colorful lights and sounds. It Includes wheels, gears, indicators, horn and lots of lights and sounds to try. 6 month old babies can even turn the key and hear ignition sounds.
Or what about a car themed ball for your 6 month old.

- Nice! I'd probably be giving IQ Baby Knock-Knock blocks to my 6 month old nephew. He loves to bite and put things in his mouth. Guess the blocks are the safest items to give. He'll have fun with it and will have difficulty biting it.
Hope you could visit my lenses as well. Thanks

- My neice LOVED playing with beach balls and golf balls. She would laugh her head off when we would play around with them. My nephew loves Baby Einstein toys. Especially the one that plays music. Great lens!

- I love how you have put this together. What I especially like is that you have given your own opinions and views under each Amazon section. I don't feel like I'm being overwhelmed with sales modules. Blessed and 5*.
