- I think free shipping is a misnomer...somebody pays someone at some point.
I have an e-commerce rc boat store and for me it means getting your goods direct from the factory and using the bigger margin to pay for the shipping, while still maintaining competitive pricing.The main thing is to have a flat rate which free shipping is. In the real world of shipping, the rates are all over the place. For the sake of the customer the word, free shipping, is use as a convenience more than anything else. And yes it helps make sells.
