Do you remember your favorite toy or game as a child?

I think everybody has certain toys or games that the cherished as a child. Do you remember Christmas morning and getting your most wanted toy? I certainly do! When most of us see one of these timeless toys in a garage sale, the goodwill or an antique store it stirs up sensational memories from our childhood.

We instantly want to hold it again or play with it. Many of us sometimes even want to buy it again. We think we can find somewhere to keep it. I have even found myself angry or resentful that I still do not have my timeless toy.

I created this lens to take a walk down memory lane. To create a bit of nostalgia. For me I remember loving many toys from the 70's. As I was born in 1967 so the 70's was my childhood! Everything from my stuffed animal collection, wooden blocks, Lite Brite, Easy Bake Oven, & marble collection with the wooden ramp thingy to my fisher-price little people, mini chalk board desk & pull toys. I still have a few blocks, little people, and my snoopy pull-toy from when I was a child. I find marbles from time to time to add to my collection too.

What do you remember being your favorite? If you can not remember ask your parents or your siblings. Sometimes they will have a memory that you don't recall right away. Add this page as a favorites and come back to see what others are saying. Add what your favorite toy or game was from your childhood and why you loved it so much to the list. Even add a few if you would like.

Enjoy your walk down memory lane!

Have you ever purchased a vintage/classic toy--that you used to own--just to have it again?

My favorite toy of all time has to be my fisher-price chalkboard desk. (1972)

(Put yours in the comments then I will transfer it here.)

It had cards that came with it with a picture and a sentence with part of it cut out so the letters can be stenciled on the chalkboard. I LOVED IT!!!! When I was in Kindergarten I was in the hospital with Phnemonia and my mom brought it up to me. When I was released she forgot it in the room! I can remember it to this day. She said, (I am sure to make me feel better), "Just think many other kids that come to the hospital might not have a lot of toys and now they will be able to play with it while they are at the hospital--maybe it will make them feel better". Well, THAT really did not make me feel better!! I was five years old and I wanted my desk... I recently found a few on ebay. I am still deciding if I want to bid on one. I have a 6 year old that would probably play with it and love it as much as I did. Hey, I bought a Lite Brite a few years ago too. He loves that too!!!

This may be weird but I actually loved my Mr Potato Head, the original one that used the real potato for the head and his little car to drive him around in. My mother's problem was getting me to give up the potato when it started to go bad (0ne reason, I'm sure, that caused the later transition to a plastic head).
Another favorite was Colorforms. Wow, I haven't thought about this stuff in years. Thanks for the memories. 5 stars.

I actually have a friend who's wife makes replicas of the old sock monkeys. She's pretty dang good too. I love timeless toys and I bought tons of "Kitchen Littles" on Ebay from the 80's just so I could have them again. I said they were for my daughter but I didn't let her play with them for the longest time. Then I broke down and saw myself for the selfish monster I was being... ha ha I eventually let her open them all. It's crazy how we see something from our past (especially childhood) and we cling to it.

Mostly I remember having lots of stuffed animals, my Barbie's and a few baby dolls as a child. I sure didn't have the amount of toys that kids today have.

Mine was my Ballerina doll that had a crown and you turned the dial in the middle of it... and she danced on her toes... she was not real small either.
Also loved jacks, those were the good ole days, when it didnt take much to make a kid happy.

My favorite toys were Liddle Kiddles. They were these tiny little dolls that fit in the palm of your hand. You can find these dolls for sale all over the internet.

Also, I had an auburn haired doll called, "Nina Ballerina." You could attach this doll by her foot to a plastic star shaped platform. When you turn the crank, her arms and legs would move like she was doing a ballet dance. I believe this doll was made either by Mattel or Tomy. I have not been able to find another one like her.

My favorite toy was my bike. I loved to ride my bike. I have one son left at home but I have 3 bikes in my garage--just in case his cousins come over and want to go ride bikes with him.
