Trading on News in Forex

Many Forex traders trade on the release of important news items. Often the net position of banks line up to show a general trend just before a major news release.

There are three major news events that can be successfully used for trading on news in Forex . These are:

1. The Non-Farms Payroll and Employment Report - the most influential news release each month. It is announced on the first Friday of each month at 8:30 am EST (USA) for the prior month.

2. Consumer Confidence - a survey of 5,000 households to ascertain the level of consumer confidence. It is announced on the last Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am EST.

3. Retail Sales Report - a measure of the total receipts of the retail stores. It is announced around the 13th of each month at 8:30 am EST.
