Trading Places
A Trading Places Tribute: The epitome of 1980's movie production value, budget and style, Trading Places holds its own among one of the best, if not the best all-around comedy feature films ever made. Directed by John Landis, Trading Places is a foray into the rags to riches, riches to rags, and rags to riches plot involving Philadelphia's elite commodities brokerage class -- in stark contrast to its downtrodden. The film shows brilliant use of satirical witt, unique impressions of hunan nature and yes, often hilarious 'roll-on-the-floor-laughing' movie scenes that comedy connoisseurs will appreciate.
A stroke of casting genius and memorable performances by Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd, among the fine supporting cast, not to mention an Oscar-nominated movie score, make Trading Places a comedy masterpiece the likes of which have never been matched.

Trading Places demonstrates pure comic genius as it shows us how the two main characters, one a hapless veteran street bum (Eddie Murphy), the other a rich commodities broker (Dan Aykroyd), get their lives tangled up in a fabricated twist of fate perpetrated by two insanely wealthy brothers; the Dukes. The movie is briliant because it comedically treats issues such as race, poverty, affluence and greed with an intellect that transcends run-of-the-mill filmmaking. The 'what-if' scenarios alone are priceless. Worth honorable mention is the casting of Al Franken as a baggage handler--Right! So grab an extra large bowl of popcorn, a can of frozen concentrated orange juice and enjoy!
