Pro and Con of Traditional Publishing For Entrepreneurial Authors
The traditional publishing option for an entrepreneurial author requires that the author submit book proposals or full manuscripts to a commercial publishing house. Then, the entrepreneurial authors keep their fingers crossed for acceptance.
Entrepreneurial authors will be required to sign a contract once their manuscript is accepted by the publishing house.
Traditional book publishing companies rarely read the entrepreneurial author's manuscript. Generally, the author must find a literary agent to represent them. Agents may charge an up-front fee and a percentage of any future profits.

- This publishing method will possibly get you on the New York Times money-making books list; however, your chances are minimal without you actively pursuing
a focused marketing strategy. - Will garner the most respect from readers who see the book store or library as the primary source of books.

Traditional Publishing - CON
- The author loses rights to the book for the duration of the contract. The publisher owns the rights to your hard-earned work.

- The chances of making money are not good, and since the books are on consignment in bookstores, any unsold books are billed back to the publisher and ultimately to you the author.
