Traffic Exchange Basics

Traffic Exchanges are services that give you the possibility to visit other member's website. In exchange the other members of the traffic exchange will visit your website. For each website you are visiting you will earn credits that can be used to have other members visit your website. Normally you are allowed to advertise mote than one URL. This way you are able to promote several websites, affiliate links or landing pages with one account. Usually you may want to use an especially for traffic exchanges designed page, a splash page, to promote your products or services.

All traffic exchanges allow you to refer new members and they will reward you with free traffic credit for every website that your downline is visiting.

The two main types of traffic exchanges are manual surf and auto surf traffic exchanges. While you will need to click on a button to visit the next website in the rotation and to earn credits for your visit with a manual traffic exchange, you just watch the websites that automatically appear every 15 to 30 seconds without lifting a finger within an auto traffic exchange. Although both types will bring traffic to your website, it is more likely that the manual exchange will bring visitors who will also read the content of the website and afterwards take the desired action.

Although traffic exchanges can bring you a huge amount of traffic, you don't want to use them to increase traffic to your squidoo lenses or any other service that does not allow the use of traffic exchanges. Always consult the TOS of the services you want to drive traffic to, otherwise you will risk you account to get terminated.
