Effective Traffic Exchange Surfing

Welcome to part four in the Dragon Surf manual traffic exchange training series. In this lens we are going to discuss how to effectively surf traffic exchanges... Tabbed surfing, surfing groups and surfing schedules

Once you are done reading and implementing these tips... stop by for your daily surf session at the web's best traffic exchange... Dragon Surf

Introducing Tabbed Browsing

Tabbed surfing has been around since the start of the traffic exchanges and most surfers swear by it. The basic idea is that you in order to maximize the credits you earn in a surf session you want to surf more than one traffic exchange at a time.

But instead of using a separate browser window for each open traffic exchange (which can clutter up your taskbar with lots of buttons), tabbed browsing makes it possible to have multiple traffic exchange open in just one browser window. Most browsers support tabbed surfing, including two heavy weights Internet Explores and Firefox.

I would recommend surfing 5 exchanges at the same time. This is the most effective and it's also fair to your fellow traffic exchange surfers, and here's why...

Nowadays, most exchanges have a 10 - 15 second timer. When you surf only 5 exchanges, by the time you finish surfing the 5th exchange and return to the 1st exchange, the timer would have just counted down to zero. You're not waiting for it to finish, nor has it finished long before you return to it. In addition, the more exchanges you surf at once, the slower your web browser will operate.

Remember that you are expected to look at each site, You would expect the same from others so play fair. Surfing 5 traffic exchanges in tabs is designed to earn you maximum credits in surf session, but should not be used to avoid doing what the traffic exchanges are designed for - exchanging page views within the community. Please surf responsibly and give your surfing colleagues the attention and courtesy you would like them to give your sites.

Not sure how to use tabs in your browser? Here's a tutorial for Internet Explorer. Note that new versions of Firefox automatically opens new links in a tab.

Firefox Power Tip: To ease strain and fatigue in your mouse hand, use your other hand to hold down the control key and press the tab key (CTRL-TAB). This will navigate you to the next tab. Not only will you find this more comfortable but it will also speed up your surfing.

Creating Surf Groups

Be careful not to spread your traffic exchanges to thin - I would recommend that you focus your surfing on 10 top exchanges.

Consider creating diving these 10 exchanges into 2 two groups of 5 exchanges. You can then easily open one surf group in tabs and do your daily session and then open the second group for a session.

You could have other groups with exchanges you surf occasionally. And you can replace some of you core exchanges if some of these "test" exchange start to deliver better results.

The top 10 inside the Affiliate Funnel is a good place to start when setting up your surf groups, and they have plenty of other exchanges to surf. And you can use the Surfing Calculator to determine which exchanges to group together.

Click here to see how to set up groups in Internet Explorer.

If you use FireFox use these instructions:

1) On the Firefox menu click Bookmarks then Organize Bookmarks. The Bookmark Manager will open in it's own window.

2) In the left-hand frame of the Bookmark Manager click on the very top folder called "Bookmarks" to select it, then click New Folder.

3) Name the folder "Surf Group 1". This folder will store all your Traffic Exchange URL's for easy access.

4) Now open your 5 group 1 traffic exchange surf or log in pages in tabs.

5) Bookmark each link. Click Bookmarks >> Bookmark This Page.

6) In the "Add Bookmark" box that opens, click the arrow to the far right of "Create in:" and choose the "Surf Group 1" folder you just created. Do this for all 5 exchanges in Group 1. And repeat this for Surf Group 2 and any other surf group you want to create.

The next time you want to start a surf session in your Group 1 exchanges, you simply go to Firefox => Bookmarks => Surf Group 1 => Open All In Tabs

Try to group exchanges that have the same surf timer and where you want to surf roughly the same number of pages in a session. The Surfing Calculator can be a big help in putting together some good groups.

Setting Up Surf Schedules

Note that as with any method of Internet Marketing, traffic exchange advertising can be somewhat of a "numbers" game, so please be realistic about your expected results. You will not have 50 signups - or even 5 unless you're extremely lucky - after getting only 500 hits to your page(s). You need to be consistent with your credit building, and over time you will see results. This is a very EFFECTIVE form of internet marketing, as tedious as it may seem at first.

The key is to keep your sites in front of people 24/7 in your core 10 exchanges and then expand to other exchanges as time and money permits. It's better to always be rotating in 10 big exchanges than to just be showing randomly in 100 smaller exchanges - but if you can maintain rotation in your 10 core exchange, by all means go for the smaller ones as well.

Try getting into a schedule (or routine). This could be surfing group 1 for an hour each morning and group 2 for ab hour each afternoon. Maybe you then have time to surf you test groups during the weekend. Again your schedule should be aimed at 24/7 rotation in your core group and then add whatever you can to it.

Use the Surfing Calculator to determine a good daily, weekly and monthly schedule that fits your advertising plan.
