Basic first steps to waking up in the morning
1. The first and most important tip is to get a good nights sleep. That doesn't necessarily mean a lot of sleep but quality sleep with no distractions, a comfortable bed, and comfortable clothing.2. Do something active as soon as your alarm goes off whether it is standing up, drinking a glass of water or getting in the shower.
3. Set your alarm clock out of arms reach, It becomes much harder to hit snooze if you can't reach the alarm. Check out this funny article about an alarm clock that everytime you hit snooze you donate money to your most hated charity
4. Have a reason for waking up early if not it will be hard to find motivation to wake up.

Tay says:
It all depends on the person, because everyone is different. Sometimes I wake up super early to get things done, but I'm very tired halfway through the day. And sometimes I can sleep in and stay up late to get things done as well. It just depends. I love waking up before the sun is out, but it is difficult sometimes.

Slow Waker Upper says:
All companies should realize that all people are different - some like to get to work early so they can leave early, others like to arrive late and stay late. Work hours should not favor one or the other. As long as you put in your time as a professional, arrival time shouldn't matter.

I don't think so. I hate time limitations. When you are intelligent you don't accept working under pressure.

I'm a night owl and that means getting up late. I seem to get just as much done sleeping in. I feel more productive getting the sleep when I need it.

Coffee and how it affects your sleep
Do you drink coffee first thing in the morning to wake up? Well you may be suprised to find out that your morning cup of joe may be the reason your not sleeping well at night. Caffeine can stay in your blood for over 12 hours and keep your body from getting the quality nights sleep it need. If you want to do a little experiment try not drinking coffee for one week and see if you wake feeling better by the end of the week. I know it sounds crazy a whole week without coffee but give it a try you'll be glad you did. Super Loud Alarm Clocks

- I hate waking up early in the morning. I always had trouble waking up early in my life. I used to have three alarm clocks. I also used to remember a cartoon with the pink panther destroying an alarm clock with a hammer whenever I heard the alarm clock and I had to get up. Fortunately, now I don't need to wake up early in the morning; I can follow my own program. Wish I had found your lens when I was young! Blessed.

How lack of sleep affects your health
Did you know that the amount of sleep you get at night can affect your health? Getting less than 7 hours a night of sleep greatly increases your risk of serious disease and colds but getting more than 8 hours a night disrupts blood sugar levels increasing your chance of getting type 2 diabetes. These are the more serious factors but of course you also have to think about sleepiness, lack of production and low energy levels. I guess what I am trying to say is that it is best to get 7-8 hours of sleep a night keep your body and mind healthy.Picture Credit : http://www.parade.com/health/2008/10/5-reasons-you-may-be-tired

- Your suggestions are quite helpful. I read your lens only because waking up early always was a problem in my life. I had many adventures trying to find smart excuses for delaying again, or trying to find ways to hide the fact that I was late again.

- I think I will try the drinking a glass of water first thing to see if that will help. I noticed when I actually leave my room and rub water on my face and eyes I feel more alert, but I'm not in the habit of leaving my room yet. Maybe a glass of water next to my bed will allow me to do this and get me up.

- Sleep is very important, unless we have proper sleep, otherwise it would be a struggle to wake up early in the morning, that will lead to poor health and memory lost.

- Waking up early earns me more daylight time so I highly recommend it too! These are excellent tips and I agree with you about coffee. I now drink green tea in the morning and I feel so much more refreshed throughout the day than I did when I drank coffee.
