Trance Music - The Global Phenomenon
There are many different sub-styles within the genre of Trance music, but its universal appeal around the world is apparent from its prominent presence at the massive festivals that are held from Europe to South America. This lens will focus on the artists, DJs, nightclubs, and festivals that drive Trance music.
The sound of Trance has evolved over the years and become a variety of sub-genres like Epic Trance, Euro-Trance, Progressive Trance, Uplifting Trance, and Vocal Trance. Its rhythms generally follow a straight four on the floor beat much like house music, only faster. With tempos ranging from 130 to 150 beats per minute, Trance is a relatively fast form of EDM. With lush soundscapes, soaring vocals, gated synthesizers, and pounding repetitive rhythms, Trance music is designed to create a trance-like state.
