Trans-Siberian Orchestra Tour 2009-2010 ... Tour Dates, Tickets, Setlists and Reviews
A wonderful Christmas tradition that gets bigger and better each and every year is the tour of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra which astounds fans with an annual breathtaking multimedia extravaganza over the holiday season.
If you've seen the show you'll be in a hurry to see it again this year and if you haven't enjoyed the experience yet you've got a great surprise in store. As a long time fan myself I find the musicianship fantastic and the special effects, pyro and video presentations almost unbelieveable.

Trans Siberian Orchestra brings Christmas to Youngstown
Bright neon lights, a colorful array of shooting flames, rising and falling platforms and glittering snowflakes are only the beginning of a Trans Siberian Orchestra concert.
An audience of over 7,000 was in attendance Saturday night at Youngstown's Chevrolet Centre to watch the Trans Siberian Orchestra perform. It was the second of two shows that the Orchestra played that day.
As the stage grew dark and smoke began to fill the air, hundreds of blue, red, orange, purple and white lights and lasers lit up the audience and the sound of distorted guitars filled the Centre.
When the show began, members of the Orchestra walked on stage, instruments in hand, into red and white, candy-cane-like light. Even though it is early November, Christmas songs blared from the stage, comprising most of the Orchestra's material.
Each song called for its own special and dramatic presentation, and each musician called for his or her own special lighting.
The Orchestra is composed of two guitar players, a bass guitarist, two keyboard players, a drummer, eight vocalists, a narrator, a lead violinist and a string section composed of musicians from here in the Mahoning Valley.
Each musical section had a special role in the concert - whether it was performing a solo from one of the side stages, sprinting down the middle aisle of the floor seats or battling in a piano duel.
After two hours of Christmas extravaganza, the lead guitarist from the Orchestra, Chris Caffery, came out on stage with a YSU jersey on to celebrate the game that Youngstown won by getting the Chevy Centre to chant "O-H-I-O."
The crowd was exuberant and the Orchestra came back on the stage to perform Beethoven, Mozart and Eric Clapton's "Layla."
YSU alumnus Dave Dangerfield was amazed by the size of the crowd at the Chevy Centre.
"It's almost like it was when I was growing up here in Youngstown. I saw people absolutely flooding the streets on my way into the Chevy Centre."
Justin Waite, a junior at YSU was also in attendance.
"I think the Chevy Centre finally got it right by getting these guys in here. I have seen people of all ages celebrating the show tonight."
"At one point I saw a young boy rocking out on air guitar to his grandmother who was sitting next to him," Waite said. "What really got me, though, was when I looked back later to see his grandmother now head-banging to the music. I think she even flashed a metal sign after the song was over."
The concert was presented by 93.3 WNCD and over $5,000 from ticket sales went to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.
