What? Did you say "Trash Your Wedding Dress"? Why yes I did. I just saw this on the news and it's the craze that is sweeping the nation. Brides everywhere are getting extreme wedding photos by trashing their dress. So come on and see what a mess you can make!
I Want To Trash My Dress!
Now I know that a lot of women use rental dresses for the photos and keep their real dresses pristine but I love the idea of trashing my actual wedding dress. How many times are you going to wear it? The dress will sit in a closet and rot for the next 25 years until you try and get your daughter to wear it to which she will respond, Ugh, that old thing! So I say "Trash that Dress"!

- Amanda and I did a great Trash the Dress session for Johnathan and Shelly down on Seneca Lake. They are a great couple to work with. We did their winter wedding at Belhurst Castle in February which is also on the blog. This shoot was in Dresden, about 10 miles south of Geneva. There is a spot where a river empties into the lake that has sand bars sticking out into the lake with large pieces of drift wood.

- I hadn't previously warned Felicia and her family about the, um, less-than-clothed visitors on the north side of the beach. We left Felicia's mom and brother on the safer side and ventured over to where the setting was perfect (despite the occasional glimpse of too much skin). There are some big rocks that I had Felicia climb and lay on. She was a trooper and was willing to do it all in her pristine, white dress. I would not want to play poker with her because she was able to keep a straight face after the tide came up when I had her laying on her belly. Her expression never changed until I lowered my camera and then she jumped up out of the water. And trust me when I say that that water was c-o-l-d.

- This is a new trend in wedding coverage. It's where the bride and groom come back for more "interesting" photographs. Now, we don't trash your dress, but sometimes it happens.

I actually thought I'd be able to fit into my wedding dress--guess again--maybe trashing it would have been a great idea, at the time!!!
