Travel in Tuscany Italy

Most people have annual holidays. But the trip would normally be just a hike to the nearby hills or countryside simply for a change in environment. The ultimate dream of everybody is a visit to Italy once in our lifetime, at the very least.

When planning a trip to Italy, your visit will not be complete if you will not visit the town where pizza originated - Tuscany. This place is known for its lovely architecture and natural beauty. There are plenty of hotels and cottages that you can relax in.

Furthermore, if you want to be one with nature and make your trip a special one, you can try to stay in an old barn or villa. You will have plenty of space where you can move about, and you can wake up with the sun rising behind the mountains, while sipping coffee in a patio.

Tuscany is well-known for its scenery which is no less than breath-taking. Visitors will definitely fall for the picturesque charm it exudes. In fact, its popularity as one of the most sought after holiday destination has skyrocketed especially when it was used as a setting in the film "Under the Tuscan Sun."

For a memorable travel in Tuscany, you can go to these popular five cities:

1.Siena - a medieval city most famous for the Palio horse race held annually. It has an old world charm that boasts of tourist attractions such as Palazzio Torre di Mangio (where you can have stunning panoramas of surrounding countryside) and the Duomo Cathedral (where you can check out its distinctive white and black colors).

2.Lucca - a historical city that stretches way back from the Etruscan and Roman times. Aside from discovering the cultural heritage and rich history of Tuscany, you can also sample tasty local specialties like tortelli luccchese (egg pasta dish, stuffed with meat-laden ragu).

3.Chianti - stretches between Florence and Pisa while passing through the villages of Radda, Gaiole, Castellina, Panzano, and Greve along the way. It is renowned because of its fantastic red wine.

4.Montepulciano - a charming hill with gorgeous renaissance period architecture. It has wine cellars that date back to the ancient Etruscan times.

5.Cortona - has stunning views of Lake Trasimeno as well as the olive groves and surrounding lush forests.

So whether you want to see the exciting Palio horse race in Siena, explore the amazing Etruscan heritage, drink in the Chianti wine scenery, or re-enact a scene from "Under the Tuscan Sun," there is no doubt that Tuscany will capture your heart.

Vinci

Leonardo's City

Vinci is famous as the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci and those who come here can fell they know him better, stopping in th house where he was born, roaming through the museum and library dedicated to him.
The town is located on the hills of Montalbano, in the heart of Tuscany, not far from Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Siena.
The landscape around Vinci was shaped by the hand of man, who in course of centuries created the typical Tuscan hillside mileu, famous for its beauty and originality an the equal of Leonardo's most haunting landscapes.
An agricultural economy has remained fundamentally unchanged and the landscape as a whole still mirrors this type of rapport with nature, traditionally based on the production of wine (Chianti d.o.g.c.) and extra virgin olive oil.
