Travel Wisconsin - We Are More Than Cheeseheads

I'm not originally from Wisconsin, though I have lived here more than half my life. Every State has its stories and quirkiness. Wisconsin is no exception.

Wisconsinites have often been made fun of in movies and on TV. I remember watching a TV movie with one of the original Charles Angels. It was either Kate Jackson or Jaclyn Smith. She was hiding from an abusive husband. There she was, sitting in a restaurant, which was in the middle of town, looking out of the window. All the men were walking in their hunter orange outfits with shot guns in their hands. A waitress leaned over to her and said (may not be the exact wording), "Don't worry dear. This is Wisconsin. It is hunting season." If anyone knows the name of this movie, please let me know.

Often in movies, Wisconsinites are shown wearing the funny cheeseheads or the strange looking winter hats with mud flaps over the ears. This is all a fabrication on what we are like. In fact, not all Wisconsinites own cheeseheads. I sold mine at a garage sale.
