Is the E-Book, My Airfare Secrets a Scam? Is it worth Buying?

I go into detail seeing if this e-book can hold up to its claim, on saving me money, on a trip I recently made to Las Vegas.

My Airfare Secrets- Is it a scam or a useful product?

Expermenting to see if the book holds up to its claims.

When I had to recently fly, I decided instead of going the normal routine of going through tons of travel websites, I decided to try out some of the tactics, of a e-book I bought- My Airline Secrets by Tony Morrison. I wanted to see if it could help me spend less money on my flight, and least, make up the price of the book, which was $24.95.

Using A Few Technique's From the Book

Having some time flexibility on my side, I picked a day to fly out that normally is cheaper(Wednesday) and then return on a Saturday, instead on Friday Or Monday. I decided to also have a flight time that was later in the day, after 5pm, if possible.
With these 2 ideas in hand, I go to two different third party sites, Expedia.com and Travelocity.com. To my Amazement, If I was to change the time to the morning, and change the leave date to Sunday(one of the busiest flying days), I nearly save $220 dollars. While keeping the same dates, I saved about a total of $170 by flying in the evening instead of during the day between 8am-5pm. Early morning flights might produce about a savings of 80 dollars, but they were non-stop flights, which mean spending about 7-8 hours flying and at airports(not much of an idea of fun). Prices between both sites didn't amount in much savings(maybe 4-10 dollars on some flights, but mostly was the same prices)
These savings was just doing some basic time manipulation, and nothing else. The e-book suggest some more ideas with dealing airline agents and how to deal with such things such as when to book your flight, what to do if the airline advertise a lower price before your flight, and much more.

The e-Book Con's

Not all books are perfect. Including this one

There was one odd idea that really stuck out with me, that seems like it wouldn't work- thats the idea that you can get cheaper fares when the ticketing system breaks, which supposedly happens 2-5 times a month. Aiming for or saying to the agent it was booked during such a time, seems kind of odd thing to try. I don't really consider that an strategy to use, like he presented. The ideas in basic tricks you might know, such as ask for a discount if your a student or a senior citizen, or work for the government. If your in one of these situation, it might worth trying, but if your not, its worthless! Other than these issues, I'm very conferable saying My Airfare Secrets isn't a scam.

Final Thoughts

With this new information at hand, I wonder if I could save more cash next time I fly. Since I normally only fly about 2-3 times a year. But, if the savings like above continue, I could fly more often! I haven't tried all the recommendations in the e-book yet, I admit. Most, other than the ideas listed in the con section, seem worth trying.
Most Travel Blogs and sites, I visited, didn't offer much help in savings with airfare like this book did. They seemed to be mostly interested in saving on airfare through frequent flier mile programs, and being flexible. What if your not able to do ether?
I highly recommend reading this e-book to save yourself some real cash next time you fly. For more information, check out the my airfare secrets website.

Some people criticize those who look for a bargain, I think that a new paradigm could be offered - perhaps stressing efficient use of resources rather than just being cheap. Great lens.
