The Redmon Fun and Fitness Exercise Equipment for Kids - Tread Mill for Kids

I was looking for some fun activities for my kids to do that would let them burn off a little energy without driving me through the roof when I came upon the Redmon Fun and Fitness Exercise Equipment for Kids - Tread Mill for Kids. I can't believe no one thought of this sooner!

With childhood obesity at epidemic proportions, having safe, fun exercise equipment for kids in an ingenius idea!

And especially as a homeschool mom, I'm in charge of physical education, and so I'm always looking for fun ways to help my kids stay healthy and fit. Which during the summer and fall is pretty easy - but in the winter it's usually either too cold or too wet to really be able to get outside and play like they need to in order to burn off all their extra energy.

For obvious safety reasons, the kids aren't allowed anywhere near my treadmill, but this great little treadmill for kids is just the thing for them! It's self propelled to help prevent accidents, although it does require a battery to operate the monitoring system. This is just so cool. It's great for all my kids (although my 9 year old is almost ready for mommy's treadmill.) I'm actually thinking of clearing off a space in their playroom for a little gym with all the Redmon Fun and Fitness Exercise Equipment - what a great way to encourage your kids to be healthy!

Make Fitness Fun for Kids

A Healthy Child is a Happy Child!

Redmon Air Walker for KidsAccording to the Centers for Disease Control, childhood obesity levels have tripled in the past two decades. Children who are significantly overweight are at higher risk for cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol and Type 2 diabetes and are more likely to become obese adults. You can help your child establish a fitness routine now that will help prevent future weight problems. The best way to encourage fitness is to make it fun for your child - so they will actually prefer to exercise over watching TV! Another great product from Redmon, the Air Walker for Kids, will help to achieve that goal! Redmon believes children's exercise should be fun, exciting, and safe, and inspire them to permanently maintain an active lifestyle. The Air Walker for Kids has been safety-tested and approved for children 3-8 years old. Since it's a miniature version of an elliptical trainer if you have one at home, your little one can work out right alongside you!

Exercise Bike for Kids!

When You Just Can't Go Riding Outside!

Happy Bike Exercise Bike for KidsBiking is another excellent way to get a child to exercise. From first learning on a tricycle to the celebrated arrival of the two-wheeler, biking is something that can be viewed as an achievement, as well as an easy way to increase a child's physical activity. But depending on where you live, riding a bike outdoors may not always be an option.

Kids can still get the great cardiovascular training as well as help develop their leg muscles with their own Happy Bike Exercise Bike for Kids!

This would have been great for my daughter when she broke her arm - this is one bike that I would actually have let her ride one-handed (although if both hands work - it's always safer to keep both hands on the handlebars!) And if you own an exercise bike, that's all the more reason to get your kids one of their own - that way staying healthy and fit can be a family affair!

Strength Training For Kids

Help Their Muscles Grow Strong and Healthy!

Fun and Fitness Weight Bench for KidsI have to admit - although I knew that exercise was good for kids - I never gave much thought to strength training. However, according to the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), strength training can be a fun way for kids to build healthy muscles, joints, and bones. All you need is a properly designed and supervised program. WIth strength training, kids can improve overall endurance, total fitness level, and sports performance. Strength training can even help prevent injuries and speed up recovery.

What is Strength Training?
Strength training is the practice of using free weights, weight machines (like the Fun and Fitness Weight Bench for Kids, and rubber resistance bands, or body weight to build muscles. With resistance the muscles have to work harder to move. When the muscles work harder, they grow stronger and more efficient.

Strength training can also help fortify the ligaments and tendons that support the muscles and bones and improve bone density, which is the amount of calcium and minerals in the bone. And the benefits may go beyond physical health. Self-esteem of young athletes may improve as they get stronger.

The goal of strength training for kids is not to bulk up. Strength training should not be confused with weight lifting, bodybuilding, and powerlifting, which are definately not recommended for kids and teens. But generally speaking, if your child is ready to participate in organized sports or activities such as baseball, soccer, or gymnastics, it is usually safe to start strength training.
