My husband and I created Treasure for KIDS with a social mission: to support our family's favorite charitable foundation, Griffin's Friends Children's Cancer Fund, now in its FIFTEENTH year as a grass-roots nonprofit, and to honor our son, William, who accomplished quite a bit himself in his 10 years on earth: Webelos Scout, Griffin's Friends Team Captain, compassionate friend & student, summer camper, Texas Roadhouse regular, collector of string, rocks & minerals & geodes, budding scientist with interests in NASA, American history, cultures of the world, museums, and his house bunnies Flash & Aurora!
As Griffin's Friends parent volunteers, we support Baystate Children's Hospital in western Massachusetts. There should be no greater concern for communities than the health and well-being of future generations...

What Is Griffin's Friends? Griffin's Friends' mission is to "bring moments of joy to courageous KIDS"!

Griffin's Friends knows that small acts of kindness can provide the relief and much-needed social and emotional support that children and families on treatment rely on. Countless expressions of hope result from Griffin's Friends activities each year at Baystate Children's Hospital and The Sadowsky Center for Children (pedi oncology outpatient clinic) in western Massachusetts:Griffin's Friends sponsors holiday parties, trips to stage performances and sporting events, an annual picnic and appreciation dinner, family getaway weekends, in-hospital entertainment, massage and music therapy;
underwrites the purchase of arts and crafts supplies, toys, computers and computer games, videos and other things needed for recreation at Baystate Children's Hospital and The Sadowsky Center for Children;
supplies special wheel chairs, durable medical equipment, and assistive devices for children in treatment at Baystate Children's Hospital;
offers the annual Max Preston Scholarship for a local high school student who is a childhood cancer survivor from Baystate Children's Hospital;
organizes regular activities on the Playdeck of Baystate Children's Hospital involving many of the Griffin's Friends Boston Marathon Runners;
and funds a program coordinator whose sole function is the enhancement of activities!

IRBs are REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW to include a diverse representation of the community it serves! You can be the eyes and ears for families and children involved in research!
