Treat Your Network Marketing Business Like A Hobby and Expect To Get Paid Like It's A Hobby

You have to admit that's a pretty powerful statement.

But it's also a true statement...

It's seems like a no-brainer but apparently it isn't because I see plenty of people come into our profession and get all excited for the first 6 weeks and then basically make no attempt to learn about and/or promote their business opportunity.

Then next thing you know it's 3 months later and they are wondering why they aren't making anything.

Now this isn't always the case but most of the time it's very true.

I mean I feel for those that go out and start educating themselves about the industry, write down their plan of actions & apply them, constantly make adjustments in order to optimize their outcome and search out help from their sponsor but still fall short of expectation in the beginning stages of their career.

I'm not so worried about those people because as long as they keep doing that and stay motivated & fresh, they will get to their destination in time (hang in there guys.. it will come).

My focus is on all the people that join a company and basically quit before they ever get started and then act like they were cheated and that life is unfair.

The only place I can stand up for you is when opportunity sites make claims that say you'll be making $5,000 or more within weeks of starting... but I can also state that most of you should know better than to believe that something like that will occur just because you sign up.

These opportunities are a business and if you don't treat them like any other business then you shouldn't expect too much especially within the first 16 months or even longer in some cases.

Honestly in order to get good at what you do and see awesome results, you have to pay your dues to the industry and your company just like everyone has to. I don't think there are many short-cuts or ways to cheat the system and why should there be ? It's just like life itself.. what you put into it, is a standard for what you can get out of it.

Paying your dues means that you educate yourself, put in the time necessary to set youself up for success down the road, staying on your auto-ship in order to reward your sponsor & upline, because it's the right thing to do (and you would want the same when you're in their shoes).

We've all had to do it to get to where we are now and it shouldn't be any different for you or anyone else.

If you want what we have then you will do what's necessary to have that same chance of getting there.

I'll use the example that I've used before to illustrate this same concept but in a different career.. yes network marketing is a career or a profession, NOT a hobby.. even if done on a part-time basis !

Here's the example: If you were to become a doctor, wouldn't you have to get an 8 year college degree just to start ? we all know the answer to this.

If you want to make the good money and live the good life you have to pay and work for it.. there's no freebies ! (and if you want to not have to worry about job security then I suggest you start working your tail off when it comes to your mlm business).

And if you get really good at network marketing over the next few years you can make more money than most doctors do and have a lot less money invested in it on top of that.

Most mlm auto-ships cost around $100 to $150 per month in order to hold your position and some let you pause your auto-ship for short periods of time if funding is an issue after your first month (my company offers this option).

Wow that's an average total yearly investment of about $1600 to be in business for yourself.. what other legitimate business has a lower overall expense than that ?

Compare that to paying for your college education to become a doctor or lawyer.

There is no comparison ! NONE

And this doesn't even count all the benefits involved with being in this type of business (I can count at least 15 of them off-hand).

How much money do you think it takes to open up a conventional business, including licensing, occupational insurance, advertising, store, vehicles, laborers, office supplies, accessories and merchandise to get started ?

I'm sure there's no need to answer. You get the point.

And what happens if you fail at that type of business.. wow that can be a total nightmare to say the least.

I'll put it to you this way.. if you can't make it in network marketing then you probably can't make it in any business.

It's that simple.. but at least if you give network marketing a serious try and you do fail, it wont cost you the whole farm ! (and if you do fail.. don't give the industry a bad name.. when people fail it's usually their own fault).

It's definitely a safe bet as far as investments go. And yes, making the attempt is an invest like all others which are never guaranteed. It's an investment for your future.
