Treat A Cold Sore

How do you Treat a Cold Sore? And you're supposed to say, "Better than it treated me!" That's a joke ...right? The problem is this. Cold sores are not funny in any way, shape or form! I'll even bet you've said things about cold sores that we should not put in print.

In this Lens I want to talk about why cold sores are so difficult to treat and why it has been such an on-going problem for millions of people. There are, of course many popular and time tested ways to treat a cold sore, but those are only temporary solutions. I will bring up some new and probably unknown methods that may be of benefit to you in permanently alleviating your cold sore problem. But, It should be stated up front that everyone immune system is different with respect to what remedies may work for them and how well, if at all, some of the newly discovered cures will work in the on-going battle to come up with new and innovative ways to treat a cold sore.

Treat A Cold Sore This Way Or That Way ~ But What's The Right Way? 

For as long as I can remember, Treating Cold Sores has been an exercise in experimentation with all kinds of lotions and potions. Most of which did nothing more than treat the symptoms and maybe alleviate some of the pain and swelling that accompanies this recurring pest.

I call it a pest because that's what it can be to anyone unfortunate enough to have an immune system that allows this virus to keep coming back year after year for up to eight or ten times a year. That doesn't mean that those who only get a cold sore occasionally should be considered lucky. Absolutely not, they are only slightly less cursed.

Cold sores disrupt your life. They make everyday activities difficult or downright impossible and there is no end to the embarrassment, and often anger, that you can feel during an outbreak.

No Matter How You Treat A Cold Sore ~ It Still Doesn't Really Go Away 

You would think, with all the resources available to medical science and especially the pharmaceutical giants, that they could come up with, or at least stumble across, a way to Treat a Cold Sore that is really a cure.

I don't mean something that makes cold sores go away whenever they appear; I mean something that makes them go away forever. All they would have to find is something that kills the herpes virus completely, instead of just causing it to retreat back into it's hiding place in you nerve cells. Or maybe you didn't know that's what happens to the virus when it becomes inactive and goes to hide until the time is right for it to re-emerge. It's a bit of an over-simplified explanation, but it's basically accurate.

For Millions, How You Treat A Cold Sore, Is The Critical Question 

As I mentioned above; in order to effectively Treat a Cold Sore, you must address the fact that the Herpes Simplex Type 1 Virus is a sub-microscopic living particle that hides in your nerve cells.

Being so small renders it practically invisible to your body's natural immune system defenses. So it should come as no surprise that an estimated 60% or more of the general population carries the virus because they were accidentally infected at some point in their life.

Some of those people never have an active episode and never even know they carry the virus. However, there are millions of people who suffer with cold sores and do have recurring outbreaks. That's why the problem must have a better solution!

Treat A Cold Sore ~ For The Last Time 

The point I am trying to make with regard to how you can Treat a Cold Sore, is quite simple.

There are discoveries made every day and just because they don't necessarily show up on the shelves at your local drug store or even come from any of the dozens of multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical companies like: Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Bayer, Merk, Wyeth or Lilly, to name just a few, doesn't mean those discoveries aren't valid.

It should come as no surprise that there are many effective treatments and cures that have been discovered through trial and error or purely by accident. And yes, what I'm suggesting is that there really may be a permanent cure for cold sores despite what the "experts" would have us believe.
