What are sand flies?
Sand flies - also named as: "Nik-Niks", "No-see-Ums" and "Phlebotominae" or "sand fly" - can be found in different species all over the world. Sand flies or sand fly normally can be found in some beaches in tropical zone such as palawan , Philippines and the beaches of Sabang, Port Barton and El Nido.Sand flies normally hunts in the dawn and in the night.You normally do not notice them untill the bites come up and will be extremely itchy which lasts for two to four days. If you are bitten, serious lesions can develop in only a few days. The affliction is called Cutaneous leishmaniasis.
