Detective Niall Malone finds himself heading up a task force for a strange new serial killer who likes to leave butchered body parts with the new medical examiner in Night Freeze. Malone is also new to this department and finds himself feeling like an outsider as he works to solve this case.

He appears to make very little advancements in the case and Shyla Clifford begins to take matters into her own hands. In Night Freeze, Lee Emory creates characters who are both looking for a new start and trying to find relief and redemption as they solve the case of the newest serial killer in town.

Both professionals are forced to confront difficulties they never expected to solve the case of the serial killer who leaves frozen body parts in his or her trail. As you read Night Freeze, you'll find yourself feeling the angst of these two characters who are both fighting to stop a serial killer against extreme odds and difficult circumstances.

From Writer to Publisher

Lee Emory is a multi-talented author who began her career writing books, working a day job and standing at the helm of her company Lee's Creative services. In 1991, while she was in the midst of her busy schedule, she conceived the idea for Treble Heart Books. However, it would take years for the publishing company to get off the ground.

Fast-forward 17 years, and Emory's Treble Heart Books now has four divisions and publishes several authors every year. Moutainview Publishing accepts work from fiction and nonfiction writers, Sundowners publishes Western historical fiction, and WhoooDoo Mysteries is the home of mysteries and thrillers such as Emory's own work Night Freeze.

This accomplished owner, author, and designer has created a publishing empire for extremely talented authors who want to be given a fair shot at having their work in print. But Treble Heart Books publishes a limited number of manuscripts in order to produce consistent quality.

Night Freeze is a great example of the type of work that Emory enjoys writing and publishing. It's a complicated, yet approachable thriller that won't leave you disappointed - although it may leave you feeling a little on edge.

Emory began her career writing science fiction for fifteen years, and her next book Perdition is a science fiction piece. Make sure to watch for its release in 2009.

When she's not writing and publishing from her Arizona home, Emory enjoys spending time with her husband, a retired law enforcement manager, and her two cats. She enjoys hearing from the fans for which she writes her work.

If you enjoy mysteries that have rich characters and engaging plotlines, you'll want to pick up her latest thriller Night Freeze. And one you've read one of her books, you'll find yourself reading her entire library.

"Lee Emory creates a rich and chilling atmosphere of suspense in her taut thriller, Night Freeze. You won't want to miss the complex characters and compelling plot!"

New Review

Killer Thriller!

Reviewed by Dawn M. Ekinia
Niall Malone had been a U.S. Marine, and now is a detective who takes a job in Kansas City to lead a task force to hunt down a serial killer. He is confronted with many obstacles along the way due to his being an outsider, and met with many mixed feelings as the new man on the force. However, Malone had an accident that left him disabled. Upon reaching his new job, he slowly felt frustration, aggravation and reservations from his new boss.
Dr. Shyla Clifford is an up-and-coming medical examiner who sees nothing but bright skies ahead of her when she retires from the Navy to strive to become chief ME of a local hospital. Nothing but long hours and hard days are ahead of her when one day, gruesome packages of body parts start to arrive at her home. Little by little members of her family and friends start to go missing. And along with the missing loved ones, comes the fear and terror of each package left for her.
Shyla soon meets with Detective Malone, who is working his new team, hoping to make progress, however this mysterious but chilling scene leaves him angered and under the his boss's microscope. Mixed with emotions from the loss of his son, he is faced with the challenges and tribulations of a madman that is branding each body part that is sent to the doctor with a U.S. Marines insignia.
I find myself turning each page of descriptions in chilling details about how the mind of madman works. Night Freeze moves smoothly and quickly as the mystery of whom the next victim will be-and if the killer will ever be found. The author's scenes were so thorough; nothing is left to the reader's imagination.
Night Freeze put me on the edge of my seat with a suspense thriller that I could view through the eyes of a serial killer related to the scared and frantic life of Dr. Shyla Clifford. You will find yourself gripping the pages as the killer dodges whatever security each victim had and pulls them away for prize.
Can Shyla and Malone capture a killer before he snuffs out what is left of Shyla's family?
Armchair Interviews says: This is a good suspense.

New Review

Lee Emory's "Perdition" is a chilling blend of science fiction and suspense.

The author draws you into a world we only experience in our nightmares and makes you care for the main characters, Aaron and Berina. But even beyond the fictional heros you feel compelled to keep reading for one main reason: This could happen, this could be our future. I couldn't put it down and highly recommend it.
