Offset your Carbon, Replant Rain Forest, AND Earn a Profit!
Thats right, Offset your Carbon, Replant Rain Forest, AND Earn a Profit. Your probably thinking whats the catch? But, their isn't one! Tropical Hardwoods are so valuable that everyone would be growing them except for one problem...They only grow in the tropics. You can help reforest the tropics without having to own land in another country, by owning trees that we plant, and take care of for you. It's pretty straight forward: you purchase tropical hardwood trees, you reforest the earth, slow global warming and pocket a nice return. Yes, that means money!
TreeBanking Inc.
Together we can change the world!
Our mission at Tree Banking Inc. is to engage the public in the process of Rain Forest Reforestation and Carbon Offsetting by teaching them how to profit from their participation. It's Simple. The process begins with our tree growers, Finca Leola, S.A., who purchase deforested land in Costa Rica. The land is legally "converted" to an ecological easement that specifies that the land can only be used for reforestation for 99 years (the same type of easement used by the Nature Conservancy).
In order to replant a rainforest, a pioneer species of Teak must first be planted to provide shade for native species that are accustomed to growing under the canopy of the rainforest.
When you decide that purchasing tropical hardwoods fits into your long-term investment strategy. The trees you purchase are planted on Finca Leola's plantations as rainforest reforestation projects.
How do I get started?
The twelve easy steps to making a profit saving the rainforest.
1.) The process begins with our tree growers, Finca Leola, S.A., who purchase deforested land in Costa Rica. The land is legally "converted" to an ecological easement that specifies that the land can only be used for reforestation for 99 years (the same type of easement used by the Nature Conservancy).2.) In order to replant a rainforest, a pioneer species of Teak must first be planted to provide shade for native species that are accustomed to growing under the canopy of the rainforest.
3.) You decide that purchasing tropical hardwoods fits into your long-term investment strategy. The trees you purchase are planted on Finca Leola's plantations as rainforest reforestation projects.
4.) You have no ownership interest in the land, only trees.
5.) The tree ownership is established very specifically: An ownership certificate is issued to you at time of purchase stating the quantity and type of trees purchased. A second certificate is issued to you one year from date of purchase (this is the time required to insure that you get the best quality trees for your money), stating the exact location of your trees (ie: Farm-field-plot-row-tree #, including GPS coordinates). Costa Rican law requires this sort of detailed tracking of all trees planted within plantations.
6.) The plantation owner, Finca Leola, S.A., guarantees the trees for two years. They replace any problem trees at no expense to you. After two years the trees are established and very rarely encounter any problems.
7.) Minimum purchase of 25 trees at $38.50 each. Volume discounts are available.
8.) Initial purchase price covers maintenance for the entire life of the trees.
9.) Harvesting/thinning the trees begins between years 5-7 and continues through year 25. All your trees will be harvested by year 25. This timing is established by a licensed forestry engineer.
10.) As your trees are harvested you are paid the profit from the sale of the lumber, and native species are planted in place of the teak trees.
11.) Finca Leola can sell the lumber for you at fair market value, for 6% of the net profit.
12.) By year 25, all of the Teak trees are harvested and we leave a new rainforest in our path.
You've helped replant an entire Rainforest from the comfort of your own home, Nice Work. Like we said it's Simple!
