Summer fashion trends are screaming for plus size summer dresses. I used to think that wearing dresses in the summer was behind the times but that was back when pantyhose was a necessity with dresses. Now it's trendy to wear dressy outfits with bare legs, especially in the spring and summer. That was a revolution for me because I have a passion for "in between the toes" sandals.

Fashion trends for the summer include outfits like a ruffle trim tank top or a halter top with denim shorts or Capri pants. This year white from head to toe is in. However, summer dresses also top the charts!

There are many reasons to choose plus size dresses for your summer wardrobe.

1. They are naturally cool


Dresses are usually not tight. The material used in summertime dresses is light and does not soak up the heat. Better yet, they allow gentle breezes to flow naturally around your body keeping you cool even in the heat of the day at the highest temperatures.

Plus size summer dresses are not usually fitted like other types of dresses. They may have a waistband or a tie, but they are rather loose and unrestricting. Some current styles are even wrinkle-free which makes them top on my list. Who wants to iron all summer?

Dresses can dressed up by adding accessories like jewelry, belts and fancier shoes or they can appear relaxed and casual by changing the accessories to fun stuff to complete the look.

Many full figured ladies despise summertime because they do not feel comfortable in revealing clothes and the clothes that they are comfortable in are too hot for the season. Plus size summertime dresses is the alternative if you feel awkward in trendy summer clothes.

Spring is here and it is time to shop for plus size spring dresses. This season is hard to shop for because of drastic changes in temperature. It may be extremely hot one day and frigid the next or you might experience chilly mornings and nights with toasty daytime temperatures.

So, how do you choose plus size dresses for the season?

Choose a "springy" jacket that complements the dresses in your wardrobe.

If you prefer printed dresses, it is suggested that the jackets that you choose are made of solid materials. If you prefer solid colored dresses, the jackets will go best if they are printed. You may choose to mix and match but it ideal to have at least one jacket that will match everything. Remember that the jackets are used so occasionally that you can save them for next spring. This allows you to accumulate quite a selection.

Go for short-sleeved or sleeveless dresses.

During the springtime, you are likely to find long-sleeved dresses made of light materials. While it might be a good idea to buy them for the season, if you choose short-sleeved or sleeveless plus size dresses, they will last throughout the season and into summer as well.

Inventory your bras and slips.

Make sure that you have appropriate lingerie to go with your new dresses. Lack of appropriate underclothes will make wearing your new plus size spring dresses impossible. Save yourself some time and frustration by shopping for such items at the same time.

Springtime is the guideline for starting to wear white shoes . Some people avoid them from the start of autumn until Easter, that's kind of a rule of fashion. Sandals will start to appear in white and pastel colors as well as bright "in season" colors. First of all, I shop at the end of seasons. When you do that, you can find tremendous discounts on plus size dresses and trendy plus size accessories. For instance, at the end of summer I buy summer dresses that are on clearance. That prepares me for the next summer and I save loads of money.

Second, I try to find solid dresses in a variety of colors. The styles I choose are usually summer or spring dresses that are easy to accessorize with printed accessories or solid colored necklaces, bracelets, earrings, belts, purses, and shoes. By alternating the accessories, it is possible to create new outfits out of the same dress. It also saves closet space, which my husband loves.

When fall or wintertime comes, I can buy printed or solid jackets, sweaters, or blazers to wear with the plus size summer dresses and spring dresses. This makes it possible for the dresses to endure season to season.

I do allow some money to buy something special for the season, like floral printed spring dresses or a sweater dress, but for the most part, solid, short-sleeved dresses are the staple of my wardrobe. It only makes sense to save money when you can and to stretch your clothing budget so that you can dress fashionably and follow the trends.

I suggest shopping clearance sales at the end of each season. Always be on the lookout for accessories that go along with your wardrobe and use them freely to achieve different looks and styles. Buy dresses that can be adapted for future seasons when possible and you will enjoy dressing trendy for less throughout the year.
