When it comes to party planning one can get caught up with so many ideas. We now have access to many magazines, food channels, TV shows and if that is not enough there seems to be at least 5 party planners in every neighborhood.

When it comes to planning the perfect party there are so many things to be considered. We sat down with a local well known event planner that has been planning parties in San Diego for over 15 years. So when I work with a client I begin by asking what is important to them. Is it food, beverage, or décor? I give each client a list with the following items:

5.Music

7.Activities

8.Location

9.Party Favors

I then ask each client to number the above items in order of importance. This is a great way for them to let me know what they want their main focus of their party to be. I know what you are thinking, it should all be balanced, but the reality is that in party planning there are no set rules.
