Creating Triathlon Training Schedules
Create a Triathlon Schedule
Training for triathlons is hard. Apart from the fact that you need a lake or sea to swim in or a pool if the weather is bad, you're not training for one, but three sports.
What's more, you have to combine these sports and train them in such a manner that you'll do well in all of them.
Swimming is perhaps the most difficult one to train. It's the most technical sport and your speed will improve much when you do a lot of technique training sessions. Most endurance athletes don't like technique training, but you can use these for convalescence training. You'll learn more about this when (not 'if') you get better! :)
Cycling and running both benefit from some technique, too, but far less than with swimming. You'll do fine, at least in the beginning, to do a lot of endurance training in these sports.
It's very difficult to explain, especially in a small web page, how to balance all your training sessions.
The most important thing for any athlete, is to listen to your body. This means that if you train hard every day and you're only feeling more and more tired, it's possible you're over training. If you have aches or cramps too often, that means your body is telling you something.
You still have to know what it is your body is telling you. If you are tired at the end of the training, it doesn't mean you trained too hard. If you are recovered for the next training, there's nothing to worry about.
When you're starting out, create a good triathlon schedule and see how you're doing after a while.
