Tribal Wars Building Guide

In Tribal Wars the number of buildings, their levels and requirements can be confusing, this tribal wars guide, the Tribal Wars Building Guide aims to give simple explanations of every building and help you choose which buildings you need to build in the Tribal Wars building tree to achieve faster then everyone else.

Tribal Wars Village Headquarters

Tribal Wars Village HQ

In the village headquarters you can construct new buildings or upgrade existing ones. The higher the level of your headquarters, the faster the constructions will be finished. As soon as your village headquarters are upgraded to level 15, you will be able to demolish buildings.
Maximum Level: 30



The Village Headquarters or Village HQ is one of the most important buildings in Tribal Wars. It allows you to construct other buildings and as it's level rises upgrade your other buildings faster. Because the Village Headquarters is so important it can be expensive and time consuming to upgrade but will lessen the time other buildings require to upgrade by reducing the percentage of time it takes to build them.

With your Village Headquarters at level 1 for example the time factor is 95%, at level 10 61%, at level 20 38% and finally at level 30 23%. At level 15 you can demolish buildings you've decided you no longer need to free up farm space, please note however that you will not get any of the resources you used in upgrading the building back and it's probably wiser to just upgrade your farm instead.

Tribal Wars Barracks

In the barracks you can recruit infantry. The higher its level the faster the recruitment of troops will be finished.
Maximum Level: 25
Requirements: Village HQ (Level 3)



The Barracks are important for warring and farming, the higher the level of your Barracks the more troops you can recruit and the faster you can recruit them. Along with your Smithy, Stable and Workshop you will progressively be able to build better troops.

Early in the game the Barracks are important for building Axemen for farming other villages.

Build Troops

Build troops early and as quickly as you can so you can start farming other villages for resources to complement your Timber camp, Clay pit and Iron mine.

Tribal Wars Stable

In the stables you can recruit cavalry. The higher its level the faster the recruitment of the troops will be finished.
Maximum Level: 20
Requirements: Barracks (Level 5) | Smithy (Level 5) | Village HQ (Level 10)



Your Stable, along with your Barracks will allow you access to Scouts and new offensive troops, the Light cavalry, Mounted archer and Heavy cavalry. Stables give access to Light cavalry, the best farming troops and Heavy cavalry a defensive powerhouse.

Tribal Wars Workshop

In the workshop you can produce rams and catapults. The higher its level the faster the recruitment will be finished.
Maximum Level: 15
Requirements: Village HQ (Level 10) | Smithy (Level 10)



Your Workshop is important latter in the game when it's time for you to conquer other players villages, your Workshop allows you to produce Rams for destroying other villages walls and Catapults for knocking down other buildings. The troops produced in the Workshop can be used to cripple your opponents and make them an easy target to noble.

Tribal Wars Church

The church helps the religious villagers in the surrounding villages. Without church the fighters of the villages in the area influenced by the church fight worse.
Maximum Level: 3
Requirements: Village HQ (Level 5) | Farm (Level 5)



Your Church affects the fighting power of your Troops, if you attack other villages within your Church radius or your troops defend your own village the Church allows them to fight more efficiently. At Church level 1 it's Influence area is 4, at level 2 it's Influence area is 6 and at level 3 it's Influence area is 8.

You cannot build a Church in the same village as your First church and it should be noted that a Church requires more farm space them most other buildings.

Tribal Wars First church

The first church helps the religious villagers in the surrounding villages. The first church is unique and can only be constructed in one village, and only, if there are no normal churches in any of the player's villages. Without church the fighters fight worse.
Maximum Level: 1



The First church is a more powerful Church that you can only build in one village, you can't have a combination of Churches and First churches and the farm space required for a normal Church is so high it is inefficient to switch from your First church to multiple Churches unless a majority of your villages are outside of your First Church's area of influence.

Tribal Wars Academy

In the academy you can educate noblemen. They will help you conquer other villages.
Maximum Level: 1
Requirements: Village HQ (Level 20) | Smithy (Level 20) | Market (Level 10)



The Academy is arguably the most important building in Tribal Wars, your Academy allows you to build nobles to conquer other villages. The building of an Academy, plus the cost of minting coins and recruiting nobles is so high it is important to build up your resources before building your Academy.

Try to get an Academy as soon as you can, it will allow you to conquer other villages and grow your empire.

Tribal Wars Smithy

In the smithy you can research and improve weapons. Upgrading the smithy allows the research of better weapons and decreases the research time.
Maximum Level: 20
Requirements: Village HQ (Level 5) | Barracks (Level 1)



In Tribal Wars the Smithy is an important building for war, the Smithy is the building that actually allows you to research new troops, you'll also need a level 20 Smithy in order to build your Academy. When you get your Smithy try to decide which troops are important for you to research and skip over the ones that aren't to save resources and time.

Tribal Wars Rally point

On the rally point your fighters meet. Here you can command your armies.
Maximum Level: 1



The Rally Point is important in that you can control your troops here, you can also send back the support you have received from other villages and use the attack simulator to see worst case and best case scenarios when attacking other villages.

Tribal Wars Statue

At the statue the villagers render homage to your paladin. If your paladin dies you can appoint one of your fighters new paladin.
Maximum Level: 1



At the Statue you can recruit one of the most important troops in the game, your Paladin, rename your Paladin and equip Paladin weapons to use in battle. It's important to get a statue and recruit a Paladin early on in the game so that you can reap the benefits of the Paladin while farming other villages.

Build a Statue first thing and start training a paladin, he'll be invaluable for farming in the beginning of the game.

Tribal Wars Market

On the market you can trade with other players.
Maximum Level: 25
Requirements: Village HQ (Level 3) | Warehouse (Level 2)



In the Market you can trade resources with other players, the higher the level of your Market the more Merchants you have to haul resources between your village and the villages of other players. The Market is important for exchanging resources if you have too much of one resource or too little of another.

Tribal Wars Timber camp

Outside of your village in the dark forests your lumberjacks cut massive trees to produce wood in the timber camp, which is needed for buildings and weapons. The higher its level the more wood is produced.
Maximum Level: 30



The Timber camp produces wood for use in your village, wood can then be used to build buildings, recruit troops and eventually conquer other villages. Wood is one of the three resources required to do anything in the game making the Timber camp an important building.

Tribal Wars Clay pit

In the clay pit your workers extract clay, which is important for new buildings. The higher its level the more clay is produced.
Maximum Level: 30



The Clay pit produces clay for use in your village, clay can then be used to build buildings, recruit troops and eventually conquer other villages. Clay is one of the three resources required to do anything in the game making the Clay pit an important building.

Tribal Wars Iron mine

In the iron mine your workers dig the war-crucial iron. The higher its level the more iron is produced.
Maximum Level: 30



The Iron mine produces iron for use in your village, iron can then be used to build buildings, recruit troops and eventually conquer other villages. Iron is one of the three resources required to do anything in the game making the Iron mine an important building. Because iron is used more later in the game the Iron mine is usually upgraded one or two levels behind your Clay pit and Timber camp.

Build Resources

Build resources and quickly and early as possible, they're what allows you to do almost everything in the game, train troops, build buildings and eventually make coins.

Tribal Wars Farm

The farm supplies your workers and troops with food. Without extending your farm your village cannot grow. The higher its level the more villagers can be supplied.
Maximum Level: 30



The Farm allows you to support more villages needed for building buildings and keeping troops, the higher the level of your buildings and the more troops you have the higher your farm must be in order to continue to expand. The farm space you have is the only cap on the number of troops you can have in a village.

Tribal Wars Warehouse

The warehouse stores your resources. The higher its level the more resources can be stored.
Maximum Level: 30



Your Warehouse allows you to store resources, the Warehouse is important for storing resources to build buildings requiring lots of resources or minting coins. The higher the level of your Warehouse the more resources you can store, if you reach the limit of resources in your Warehouse for any resources no more of that resource will be produced until you free up space by using up resources.

Tribal Wars Hiding place

Resources in your hiding place cannot be plundered by your enemies. The bigger it is, the more it can hold. There is no place to hide your troops though. Even your enemies' scouts cannot spot the resources hidden in your hiding place.
Maximum Level: 10



Your Hiding place saves some resources from enemies if you are attacked. The higher the level of your Hiding place the more resources you can hide there, your enemy will not be able to see resources in your hiding place even if they successfully scout your village.

Tribal Wars Wall

The wall defends your village against your enemies' troops. The higher its level the better the basic defense of your village. It also increases the defensive strength of your troops.
Maximum Level: 20
Requirements: Barracks (Level 1)



Your Wall allows your troops to better defend your village, in large battles the wall can be the deciding factor in who wins, the combination of a Church or First Church and a wall gives you an advantage in battles even when you have less troops then the attacker. Enemy Rams can destroy your wall so after some battles it may be necessary to rebuild it.
